I fell in love with Lisa. A post-rock singer-songwriter, the best around? An up-to-par review, well done.
June Of '44 Four Great Points
Voto:
This is a great album but it is certainly not innovative, like all post-rock after Slint. And surely the musicians' technique (which doesn't seem that exceptional to me) is not the highlight here. Rather, as you say, it’s the stripping down and the complexity within simplicity. In this album, I hear little experimentation; the sound mainly draws from For Carnation, Don Caballero, and Rodan, all bands that are a notch above June of 44.
Nirvana Nevermind

I repeat: Slint, Tortoise, Dadamah, Bardo Pond, Fugazi, Mercury Rev, Don Caballero, Vampire Rodents, Thinking Fellers. All bands superior to Nirvana. The 90s are far from being garbage.
Butthole Surfers Psychic... Powerless... Another Man's Sac
Voto:
Do you know Ed Hall? They are very, very similar to the Surfers, just more hardcore, more melodic, and perhaps a bit more playful. I've listened to two albums (Love Poke Here and Motherscratcher) and I was truly impressed. I recommend them, even though they are indeed a bit derivative.
Gatto Ciliegia Contro Il Grande Freddo #2

Great debut review. This band has an applause-worthy name: "Gatto Ciliegia Contro Il Grande Freddo"? Definitely worth searching for, even just for the name!

Don’t hold it against me, but I really didn’t like this review. It seems randomly written, you barely described the concert, and you mentioned things I don’t agree with (last revolution in the History of Rock?). Also, what do the interludes about the urinals with immigrants and the Forza Italia flags have to do with it? Reviews written in a rush are easier to read but risk becoming too approximate and confusing. Regards.

Anyway, you picked quite a remarkable album for your debut review, huh? I’ll give you a four for the choice :)

mmmm, what you're saying doesn't sound quite right to me, I can't really tell you why though...
June Of '44 Engine Takes To The Water

Ah, "Crime and Punishment" by Dostoevsky is definitely one of the novels that has profoundly marked me (I know, it has nothing to do with it, but I saw that on your blog you included a dialogue from ch.4).

I'm going from memory because I don't have the record; a friend had me listen to it: it's a psychedelic album, and it doesn't seem to have much to do with Zappa's freak experiments.
