Butthole Surfers Psychic... Powerless... Another Man's Sac

Yes, there’s a girl who sings, but they don’t seem electronic to me. Or rather, they’re electronic as much as the Butthole were. They seem like a very wacky version of foxcore bands.

A tear-jerking review, seriously.

You're welcome. Be careful with the Butthole because over time they've become a bit (a lot) pathetic, so make sure to listen to something from their early albums (like "Woly Boly" or "Humam Cannonball"). As for the Huskers, Candy Apple Grey is indeed a bit poppy, but with Zen Arcade and New Day Rising you're good to go (try "Turn on the News," "I'll Never Forget You," "Pink Turns to Blue," "Girl Who Lives on Heaven Hill," and "Celebrated Summer"). With Fugazi, anything you pick is good, and for the Cows, try "Blown" from Sexy Pee Story. (Anyway, I always listen to whole albums, not just single songs). Good night.

Well, I'll list the BASIC groups, you probably already know them. Anyway, in my opinion, the best things have come from those who have strayed a bit from the hardcore norms. The best of the best are Minutemen (if you don't have it, definitely get "Double Nickels on the Dime," one of the most incredible albums I know) and Husker Du (anything from Metal Circus onwards, especially Zen Arcade is absolute). Moving a bit further away from hardcore, there are the Butthole Surfers (anything up to '89 is outstanding). In the '90s, two bands stand out: Fugazi (which I hope you already know) and Cows (you probably don’t know them, but I highly recommend them). I'm almost certain I've said some super obvious things, but without knowing what you listen to and what bands you know, it was a bit difficult...

Hi everyone, I just happened to pass by and thought of something: The title you wrote (pretazzo, you really didn't do a great service to the surfers) is wrong (or rather, cut off)! The true title is "Psychic...Powerless...Another Man's Sac." They say they were undecided about whether to use "Psychic...Powerless" or "Another Man's Sac" as the title, so they went with both! A decision in pure Butthole Surfers style. By the way, I listened to the Pain Teens, but they don't really impress me, I don't know. I haven't tried Drain, but from the descriptions I've read, they seem a bit too tough. However, I like Ed Hall more and more every day; I might even review them. @El Chupacabra: I see you're hanging around the noise-rock and "hard" rock scenes in general, check out the Cows if you don't know them, they're the best!

The Decline of Western Civilization I have it, and it’s really awesome! Unfortunately, it doesn’t include the Dead Kennedys, who were from San Francisco, not L.A. I’ll try to look for the ones you mentioned, thanks (PS: unfortunately, some of those time-wasters have also made their way onto this page, continuing to pollute the reviews with pointless comments, which is strange because they usually don’t show up on quality album reviews. One piece of advice: ignore them).

Late '70s live videos? Can you recommend any in particular? (I remember seeing one that also featured the Ramones and it was awesome, but I could be mistaken)
