Stars Of The Lid And Their Refinement Of The Decline

120 minutes of krankism are a bit too much for me. It's certainly got to be a remarkable album.

Listen to yourself once, I'd say I confirm the 3 of kataklisma and under. Nice, but post-rock is a bit of a drag. Very interesting, I wouldn't know, definitely talented.

What do they sound like? According to De-Generi: Rock, Post-Hardcore, Cosmic, Post-Rock, Instrumental. From the review: Blocks of magma with unexpected psychedelic twists, circular, enveloping. Clearer than this. I re-vote the review because it is concise, explanatory, original. And written as it should be.

Perfect! By the way, it seems to me that the album is to my liking. Welcome.

Yes, but when I think "doom," I think Tony Iommi and his way of riffing, that malevolent aura bestowed upon the sound of the guitar (which I find in EW). The Black Sabbath might not have been metal, but Electric Wizard certainly were, without a shadow of a doubt, therefore: doom metal. Then, regarding the fact that they are really nostalgic disciples, that's undeniable. Instead, in the famous trio, certainly more original (though I would call them disciples of Candlemass, or not?), I don’t find Iommi’s typical riffing. Did I listen wrong? Maybe. Anyway, these are somewhat useless discussions, I realize that.

Well, however, the sovereigns of English (and global) doom metal are ELECTRIC WIZARD. By the way, this year their new album is coming out (for me, already album of the year). I would place the triad MDB/Anathema/Paradise more in the gothic doom category, or romantic doom or whatever (definitions that don't mean much, I know), in short, they descend from Candlemass who were certainly not pure Sabbath-inspired slowpokes. An atmospheric metal with dark, sophisticated inflections, certainly not the roughness (and drugs) of Black Sabbath.

I also thank Kosmo, albeit very late, for the hip-hop recommendation. Unfortunately, I've stopped using Last.fm (in a couple of months, I haven't discovered practically any new bands).

Indeed, peggiopunx. And I had also promised myself not to appear on the pages of the usual Nevermind, Dark Side, etc. So I'm disappearing, cheers.
