Earth Hex: Or Printing In The Infernal Method
Voto:
The album is truly beautiful. An alternative soundtrack for Jarmusch's Dead Man.

Well, I adore Sister Ray, I adore E2-E4 (a brick of two chords for 58 minutes - see review), I love fifty-minute doom drones. I just found this album a bit uninteresting. In the same genre, see: Fushitsusha and Mainliner.

Damn, sifting through the latest reviews that have come in has become quite a hassle.

Great album, although for now I'm at three stars. Still in the same realm (but more bluesy and more dissonant), I’d like to mention: Blues Control. I listened to Tinariwen (recommended to me by Ghemi some time ago) and I thought they were okay, but they’re not really for me.

Well, there are truly a plethora of devastating journeys based on noise and repetition better than this one, which, I agree with ajeje, is a rather boring trip. Devastating, yes, and they know what they're doing, but listened to on stereo they make no sense, and even less do the studio albums (I listened to Jealous). Just browsing through the Japanese noise-ultra-psychedelic scene, for example, or the more well-known Lightning Bolt or (not as terrifying) some old stuff from Oneida. In conclusion: nothing original and nothing that elevates itself above average.

mmm, at worst I'll settle for the DVD, after all for ten euros... // With Boris, the deal is this: the first Abolutego and Amplifier are extreme drones like Earth but more annoying, Flood is ambient-drone of stratospheric quality, Heavy Rocks is almost normal stoner (but others do it better), Akuma No Uta is a bit of everything (so it could be suitable for beginners), the latest Rainbow (beautiful) is a crossover between The Sinking Belle (on Altar) and Jimi Hendrix. The rest I don’t know.

Wow, I ordered it without listening to it, I thought it was (almost) at the level of HEX. And then there's the DVD...

Never heard it. This beautiful year the album by Hidden Hand and I ordered the new one by Earth. Above all, I hope that sooner or later they reissue Flood by Boris, which has never been released outside of Japan.

Southern Lord is churning out plenty of great records.
