THE REVIEW

If someone is looking for the combination "music/noise", they cannot miss this album, released in 2005. The only track, titled "Ladybird" (like the album), is a real threat, a loose cannon, pure acoustic pollution, the kind of music that makes decent people shake their heads in disgustful pity. The band has indeed embarked on a long and devastating improvisation of 42 minutes, between killer rhythm and smacking guitar blows. The pounding rhythm will keep us company throughout the track, always proposing the same rhythm (or almost), followed by the tireless bass work, as well as the sick and distorted guitar blasts. And amidst all this chaos, the sick voice of the singer will echo, sometimes calm and whispering (sorry for the rhyme), almost friendly, sometimes crazy and howling, almost like the outburst of a homicidal maniac. What else can be added, all the ingredients are there.

This album by Shit and Shine is only a taste of their music: in fact, up to today they have released other excellent works like Jealous of Shit and Shine (2006) and Cunts with Roses (2007), but the band is famous for their live performances, where the group's characteristic traits emerge: endless improvisations and rhythms that would be the perfect soundtrack of a madman in the middle of a crisis (in this regard, it is interesting to note that during live performances they often use four drum kits [!]).

To conclude, I recommend this album not only to fans of noise or industrial and associated genres, but to all those whose dream is to bring the house down with music (preferably not your own) or maybe to all those who are eager to know what noise made song is. The last tip: not suitable for the faint-hearted (so don't let your grandma listen to it).
