Vinicio Capossela Live in Volvo
Voto:
What can I say, simply out of this world. The "Sentimental Boxer," a translation from Vlad Vissotsky, is simply sensational, especially with the long intro of the kochani. But I've never understood, does Marc Ribot play on any of the tracks or does he only play in "Canzoni a manovella"?

I'll add it to the already overflowing list. Indeed, you've piqued my curiosity.

Quite interesting this one, I didn't know anything about it at all.
Giacinto Scelsi Natura Renovatur

Simply a fantastic review of a work I was unfamiliar with, which makes me really want to get my hands on it. There's a record by Marc Ribot that is a tribute to this Scelsi, and it's not bad, although a bit on the dodecaphonic side compared to what I usually listen to. However, it has its charm, "Scelsi Morning," you can find it on Tzadik.

Honestly, it seems to me that you somewhat overvalue him; poor Zappa, I believe you are making him turn in his grave...
George Benson Beyond The Blue Horizon

Honestly, Springsteen seems to me like a poor and diminished copy of Dylan, a construct of the record companies, a guy with fifty mansions who writes songs about the hobos of the 30s, in short, a commercial gimmick. I don’t want to fight with anyone though, especially because in this nice review it’s a topic that doesn’t matter a damn.
George Benson Beyond The Blue Horizon

I agree with you, once he was a fantastic guitarist and in the end, he became a rather mediocre singer (I haven’t listened to him closely, but Benson's pop stuff doesn’t seem of particular quality to me, not to undermine pop as a genre which has its own dignity). Legend has it that he listened to Pat Martino and felt like quitting because he felt inferior; I think, however, that it's just a legend...
