Very interesting, the cover and the title of their first album, "Get Off the Cross, We Need the Wood for the Fire" is simply genius!

I didn't know about this meeting-clash between three powerful jazz fusionists. McLaughlin is truly great; I was listening to "Birds of Fire" the other day.

Thank you all for the comments. Exactly odradek, you really have a keen eye; in fact, the CD says "released in 1975 on Cramps Records." Anyway, I have the reissue from a phantom record label ampersand from Chicago, which, considering these releases, will probably go bankrupt in a couple of days. Undoubtedly, it's not something to listen to often, but it has a quirky and twisted charm. Like one of those poisons that in small doses become medicine.

The three that odradek mentioned are all excellent starting points. Other records that I think are easy listening but very beautiful are "Headhunters" by Herbie Hancock, very funky, or "Sketches of Spain" by Mr. Miglia (which includes the jazzed-up concert of Aranjuez), or "The Composer of Desafinado Plays" by Jobim, if you like Brazilian jazz.

Good job uxo as usual. It reminds me of the song by Gainsbourg dedicated to Boris Vian, Intoxicated Man: Je bois
À trop forte dose
Je vois
Des éléphants roses
Des araignées sur le plastron
D’ mon smoking
Des chauves-souris au plafond
Du living-
room
Eh toi
Dis-moi quelque chose
Tu es là
Comme un marbre rose
Aussi glacée que le plastron
D’ mon smoking
Aussi pâle que le plafond
Du living-
room
L’amour
Ne m’ dit plus grand-chose
Toujours
Ces araignées sur le plastron
D’ mon smoking
Ces chauves-souris au plafond
Du living-
room
Eh toi
Dis-moi quelque chose
Tu es là
Comme un marbre rose
Aussi glacé que le plastron
D’ mon smoking
Aussi pâle que le plafond
Du living-

Great smash!! The titles, among other things, are borrowed from the geometry of Riemann surfaces and string theory!?! Goodness, isn't it? Compactified greetings in extra dimensions!

In fact, listening to Masini could be defined as the musical equivalent of coprophagia. Anyway, the world is beautiful because it is diverse, and long live perversions ;)
