You too, I started on DeBaser (what made me do it) with an album about Ramazzotti... And everyone comparing him to Gigi D'Alessio (blasphemy!). Personally, he is an artist I don't respect, who writes trivial melodies and even more foolish lyrics. Just listen to 4 or 5 in a row to realize that the themes are always the same. And then he started with albums identical to this one (only the musicians changed, thankfully for him) and he’s doing worse than before. But as Vinsex said, "de gustibus." Bye.

Ah, but the greatness of the Beatles lay in making songs like Helter Skelter, Come Together, Norwegian Wood, etc., accessible to everyone. And besides, they were 4 aliens (5 with Martin). Listening to Frank Zappa remains very difficult for me, perhaps because I haven’t delved into it much.. But he was undoubtedly a genius.

But indeed, in the previous post, I said that Raf & Co. are not aliens. It's just that I label them as good artists (and not exceptional!), while you label them as mediocre. Jeff Beck fit into the comparison with Pop, not with Jazz. By now we have both established that we have a very different perspective on listening to and making music. So much so that you assert that the Beatles are not the greatest band ever (something that should be studied in textbooks). I don't know if you make music, but by reading scores or listening to certain harmonic solutions, one cannot help but praise the Beatles. But that's a whole other story...

This album is still missing from my collection. However, "Our Great Angel" and "The Cherry Hill" are absolutely 2 great songs. Of course, after albums like "Emotions," "Our Dear Angel," and "Humanly Man: The Dream," it was extremely difficult, if not impossible, to replicate that. Bye.

Sorry, you misunderstood me: I’m studying jazz, and with that I wanted to say that it’s perfectly fine to do jazz and listen to Jeff Beck, while at the same time enjoying pop music... at least as a diversion. If we all followed your "advice," even the Beatles should be told to fuck off because in a sense they founded modern pop... And yet they are just the greatest band that ever existed on this fucking planet. I wonder why...
