Ok, the album is nice and the review is too.
Charles Mingus Mingus Ah Um
Voto:
Your observation about the concentration of beautiful music in certain years is interesting. I think this depends on the "climate" of a period. On the "imitation" and pursuit of musicians. Thank you for this cultured illustration of Charlie Mingus. I'll note Charley Elroy and follow his musical research. 5 for the review. I have to listen to the record just for this, so I won't give it the 5 it deserves.
Boards of Canada The Campfire Headphase
Voto:
Dear Gabbox, you are a romantic (Wednesday from Lions... Happy Days... Lost Weekends... Summer of Love). And indeed, the album lends itself to it. The track I like the most is "Farewell Fire." Some have found a connection with the music of the Necks. But I don't agree with that here. The Necks are "unique," and I am (at this stage) a monomaniac.
Goodbye.
Gavin Bryars Jesus' Blood Never Failed Me Yet
Voto:
What a pity that you don't like Tom Waits in this performance! I love the album especially for him. Gavin Bryars is undoubtedly a great of our time (and the album is a 5). However, I read an interview with him (in Carlo Boccadoro, Musica coelestis, Einaudi) and he came across as rather arrogant and unpleasant. He criticized all the other musicians of the 20th century, except for himself.
Bim Sherman Miracle
Voto:
Dear Sylvian, I am 57 years old and nearing 58.
It is possible to reconcile modernity and the past. I have a strong jazz record collection left to me by my father, and I listen to it on a 33 RPM turntable. I also travel for work with my iPod in my ears.
Moreover, the money for music competes with that for other needs. In short, it's limited. So if it’s possible to save, legally and without harming the brave music stores, why not use everything?
I just wanted to say that if you're interested in hearing Bim Sherman: Miracle and you absolutely can't find it, you can.
Take care.

Okay, heard on a rainy Saturday afternoon: the review was 5, the album is 4.

odradek: you are contributing (along with other debaserian) to my "overturning"
I bought Bim Sherman: Miracle.
It's not my favorite type of music for the heart and the mind. But fortunately, modernity makes us multiple, so this voice will reach my ears as well.
I need to listen to it more carefully.
But the review is worth 5
We'll see about the album
thanks (see, I'm learning: no signature! just little ghosts)
ps the album is widely available. You can find it online for not much
Alessandra Celletti Metamorphosis
Voto:
Thank you, Really thank you for pointing out this Alessandra Celletti.
The strength of DeBaser is precisely in recovering a "hidden" aspect of music that only the most interested and passionate listeners can identify.
I will look for Celletti and place her Metamorphosis next to Philip Glass. Of course, with your review attached.
Happy listening,

Katie Melua Piece By Piece
Voto:
Considering that the Taliban, when they took power, PROHIBITED MUSIC, it doesn't surprise me that Al Jazeera, etc., doesn't know Katie Melua.
