The worst album of 2008, despite the fierce competition. I don’t understand the reason for the 2 stars (perhaps remnants of Christmas goodwill). I find the comparison to Camerini excessive, even if dARI take up the more superficial and deteriorated aspects: "Arlecchino Elettronico" at least had some cultured premises (the commedia dell'arte), even if transposed with questionable results. I was disappointed when I found out that, at least by age, they could be the early parents of the thirteen-year-olds in hormonal crisis who make up their audience: the certainty is that the bimbeminkia will grow up, and the hope is that they won't move on to Wasco and Jowanotti (who probably taught these morons Italian). And now excuse me, but I'm going to make myself a sandwich with sausages and a glass of wino.
King Crimson Red
Voto:
An essential review, albeit with some carelessness, useful as a welcome to the court of the crimson king. I believe it’s pointless to draw boundaries between genres, especially regarding the music of those years. The Beatles, in a sense, were the pioneers when it came to studio innovations and genre blending, while the Moody Blues, in addition to mixing symphonic music with the canons of pop-rock, were the first (I believe), with Days Of Future Passed from 1967, to create a concept album, typical of prog.
Giovanni Allevi Joy
Voto:
I quote DLF and Jurix, and to wrap up the year beautifully, I offer a reflection on the oxymoron "contemporary classical": not necessarily does "classical" mean quality; just as there are "classical" cut garments made of mediocre or poor fabric, so there are "classical" composers and performers who are mediocre or subpar.

I believe this is the most balanced review I've read about Allevi, written with informed knowledge and free from exaltation and demonization. It is indeed a nice little record, but so nice that after two listens you forget you’ve even heard it (I experienced the same with Ludovico Einaudi, another artist who I believe is very overrated). I find the comparison to Stephen Schlaks a bit unfair (unfair to Stephen, of course): sure, the bespectacled yankee had an orchestra backing him that covered his shortcomings, but it’s also true that he was much less pretentious.

A tribute to what is perhaps the boldest album by Yorke & Co., who did not want to create a "OK Computer 2".
Mariah Carey Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel
Voto:
Well-written review, even though I disagree. At the beginning, I didn't mind her, but now I struggle to distinguish her among the many divas that plague MTV (Jennifer Lopez, Merdoncé, Rihanna, Cristina Aguilera).

Of the book, of course :-)

Well-written review, even though I don't particularly appreciate the author.
Bob Marley & the Wailers Uprising

I quote Iside, who perhaps has read my definition of Inti Illimani. I have never managed to get through a Bob Marley album; it’s a shame that many have superficially reduced him to "Prophet of Ganja."
Elton John Reg Strikes Back
Voto:
Through this album, I discovered Elton John at the tender age of 13. Pleasant and well-made, balanced between ballads and livelier tracks, it doesn’t seem to have aged poorly.
