Irrefutable. The book is closely tied to "If This Is a Man." I have a particular attachment to it because my grandfather (an army officer interned in Mauthausen for refusing to continue fighting with the Germans after the armistice) experienced partly similar events.

I'm not a purist, but I've always found SP unwatchable. There are clever provocations, like in the episode you mentioned, but the gratuitous vulgarity of this cartoon is, for me, at bothersome levels.

I enjoy reading about these albums that I would never listen to. The cover image I saw in Todorov's book "La conquista dell'America": it's horrifying, but in their place, I would have chosen the one of skinning, the one of cannibalism, or the one of the clash with the Spaniards (with heads and limbs flying).
