I liked the film because it entertained me... and if you compare the final scene of Cast Away to the final scene of Broken Flowers just for a sort of similarity in the scenery, it really means that we have watched two different films. And this comparison of yours, like the others, if I may say, is a bit instrumental and clever since it could be applied to any film in history. It’s like saying that if in film 1 there’s a shot of a guy coming out of the bathroom and in film 2 there’s a similar shot, then film 2 is a plagiarism of film 1. The significance of coming out of the bathroom only makes sense when you consider what is done in that damn bathroom.

absolute masterpiece of the awareness of showing. Jim Jarmusch is a true director and has a very precise staging code regarding this film. Watch it a few more times: the film is not empty, it gives the characters only what they can say and nothing more. We need more of that.

Anyway, Johansson is very hot, with the caveat that she gives me the impression that in thirty years she will already be past her prime. Pleasant film, well-written and well-acted, with the flaw of not wanting to be more than what it is.
