Beatles The Beatles

I mean, I don’t get it... if someone wants to write a song, do they have to listen to this and Blonde on Blonde? :-) ..well, with all due respect, they end up with some pretty shitty songs. There was so much more out there. Like, go tell the Velvet Underground what they can do with this, Blonde on Blonde, and Exile on Main Street (which, by the way, was yet to come in '67 as it was in '69).

I didn't like it very much.. Glass Onion remains one of the best tracks on the album for me :-)

sanjuro, what a pleasant return, how are you? :-) ..I was just rereading the deluge of comments in this review and it made me reflect further on how idiotic certain users can be: as soon as you step outside the lines (like a review done twice or "elucubrations" that are too "cerebral") everyone gets scandalized.. oh well.. :-D this is a free site, but for many there are unwritten rules that must not be broken, otherwise the old unmistakable ghettoization kicks in. Quite sad when you think about it, don’t you think?

seems super valid to me.. unpredictable, especially ;-)

Why does even a good review have to be tarnished by nonsense like "best band of the '90s," a statement that obviously makes no sense? As for the album itself, I think the self-titled one is much better, as it highlights and tackles with much more personality the characteristics you attribute to this record. In my opinion, the best things from Alice in Chains are in the EPs.

no, I won't touch them.. :-D I'm too nostalgic to diss those bands, they were my teenage years! As for purpulan: that's why I said Earthtone 9 were more "heavy".. after all, the so-called nu metal was a genre with blurry boundaries.. just think of bands like Machine Head.. bye!

ah divodark you're right, sorry I didn't check the year :-) ..however, I stand by my observations. I also remember earthtone 9, who were heavier in the literal sense of the word.. anyway, during that time (late '90s), bands like that were popping up everywhere: Coal Chamber, Spineshank, those jokes Powerman 5000, just to name a few: indeed some really crappy bands :-D

mmmm oh my god maybe some of them are better off forgotten ;-) ..but the cover is really too trashy.. genius.

Oh, do they still exist? Can you believe it! I only have the debut I bought in '98, and even back then they weren't exactly the pinnacle of originality (for the genre)... just imagine after another ten years; with all the caveats since I haven't listened to it, of course.
