Vane, the problem with "kids" is that as far as I know, it's impossible to find on DVD.. Maybe I can burn my Dvix format for you and bring it to Lugano ; )

You defined it as a provocation, not me... Well... I continue to be surprised by your complete lack of humility: you would be "the chosen ones," those few people capable of understanding Dream Theater... But give me a break. Get down from your pedestal and admit that, quite simply, there can be differing points of view, and that your beloved band is not as indispensable and absolute as you had hoped... It may be frustrating, I imagine, but unfortunately, there are different visions of what is "artistic" and what is not, and there's nothing you can do about it... Ciao WINO.

I allow myself to respond as I see fit since: 1, you are the one who decided to intervene in MY review without anyone forcing you to do so, 2, you were quite offensive, which I was not in my recent comments, so take responsibility and face my response: I did not insult anyone "who wishes to dream," inattentive as rather obtuse anonymous, but I did RESPOND, and I emphasize, RESPONDED to others who criticized me. And then explain something to me: why is it that a perfectly legitimate criticism (there are many others that condemn and not just praise groups, and it would be absurd if you didn't know there's something called "freedom of speech") is taken personally by many and triggers so many insults towards the person who made it? Guys, a little balance! If you have something to say, do it about the review and discuss it, but why the hell make it personal? Get a grip, buddy, this is a free site.

mm I wouldn't know.. it's always ambiguous and unnatural, except of course in the final scene where the threesome is a sort of liberation, a cry of innocent freedom from the "porno generation" (as Larry Clark defines it)

x wino: and where would your "provocation" be? You haven't written anything.. except the usual meaningless attacks on everyone who doesn't think like you about the DT.. clearly, in your view, everyone who doesn't listen to the DT should be listening directly to Tiziano Ferro.. But Wino! There’s a huge musical world that doesn’t just limit itself to Dream Theater and Tiziano Ferro.. yours is a rather narrow view; so here’s a thought: perhaps you can't comprehend it, but there are people with considerable musical culture who, believe it or not, can't stand the DT at all, so it seems to me it's not exactly a matter of "insignificant mass" (heh, what a stupid definition) VS DT fans.. in fact, reading your recent comments, I can't help but think the exact opposite..

hi hi hi Gilles, what a laugh to read your comment.. truly amusing; it would be easier to counter than something written by a 5-year-old.. now, with all due respect for DT fans, at least for those who just express an opinion, a point of view, don't you realize dear Gilles the enormous banalities you’ve written? Your comment is nothing but another demonstration of the fanaticism and especially the obtuseness that surrounds this band. Same old story: technique ERGO great band, they are machines at playing and therefore they are a great group.. but what does it all mean? It makes no sense.. There is no logic, realize that, Gilles.. for the umpteenth time I repeat: great music is not the result of great technique.. indeed often it arises (at least in the rock context) precisely from the opposite, from total technical/interpretative naivety.. think about it, Gilles, think about it..

Honestly, I didn’t dislike either "Kids" or "Ken Park"; I don’t know, they’re ambiguous, aesthetic, maybe unnecessary, but ultimately still the product of a perspective... I wouldn’t be able to define them as trivial, that’s for sure...

the first piece is beautiful, then they gradually get worse and by the fourth piece they seem like a bad copy of Coldplay, which is saying something.. well.. I give the album a 2 and a half
