I really listened to him back in the days of "Antichrist Superstar" when, at least in Italy, he wasn't a star at all. And I have read the lyrics too. Conclusion: too easy. Because it's easy to go against the bigoted and hypocritical values of American society but not to have the talent and courage to present an alternative to these values. And don't come telling me that the silly form of Satanism he rambles about is an alternative. Consequently, with little effort, one can understand how it's a show, put together (by him, who is still very smart and clever) to make money in a world, that of America, so culturally impoverished that it doesn't need “alternative” values but rather settles for the populism of those who simply “go against.” In this sense, it’s worse than a boy band. Because it’s a purely commercial phenomenon, without depth to rise above it, yet it pretends to be "alternative," musically and "philosophically." Yes, yes, but at the MTV awards, look at that, he’s even been there more than once, playing the clown in front of the cameras…
