Beautiful Jan! But I really can't stand this album from the start.. Besides, I'll tell you, I didn't even like Homogenic (the only one I've heard) that much, but truly I've read a bit of articles, and this seems to me like such a pretentious work that I don't really feel like approaching it..

Jessy, but why should we be hypocrites just because we don't like Jombo? Tell us, it's not clear... And above all, why are you still here? You already wrote 10 comments ago that it was useless to waste time with depressed ignorants like us... Oh well... anyway, I might just join the BJ forum too, you know it would be a blast :D

HAVE we exaggerated with the insults? Nice one..

But of course.. Of course one listens to whatever they like! However, if you come to tell me that BJ is one of the cornerstones of rock, that he has done nothing but produce masterpieces, a myth, a god, then I take the liberty of raising a few small objections.. What can you do, we really enjoy discussing happily, and so, when the opportunity arises... : D

"Television: I don't know them and I have no intention of doing so" ..and thank goodness we’re the limited ones.. "in the world, there are so many people like you who don't understand a damn thing about music" ...mmmm mmm, oh yes Francesco, thank goodness you're here then, to let us hear BJ's Samples.. P.S. you haven't answered my question. But oh well... maybe you have nothing left to say? But no, don't worry... After all, someone with your open-mindedness and vast culture... (how nice to fuel the controversy : D)

Very good, Tuscan! Concise but very descriptive. The cover is beautiful, I don't know the album but I will look for it!

Dear Dan, explain to me too: who are those "4 idiots who denigrate each other"? I don’t understand.. I don’t even understand your argument: right now I’m not talking about objectivity, I’m simply asking to justify the myriad of insults coming from Francesco and Jessy.. If they’re so pissed off, maybe they're right about Bon Jovi.. let them enlighten us, let them open our minds.. I ask for nothing more.

no, no, no, no, Francesco, we're not there at all. You didn't give me any historical context; you only talked about two albums when Bon Jovi has made eight (or nine? Lately, he’s been releasing too many; I’ve lost count). Moreover, you just cited two albums from the '90s when I believe Bon Jovi is stylistically better placed in the '80s. It would have been better to take an example from an older album. And then excuse me, Keep the Faith is a turn compared to what? And why do you repeat phrases from the review? A review that, I emphasize, doesn’t explain or describe anything, but is just a celebratory elegy for your idols. And then on the lyrics, you were even more elusive; it’s not enough just to quote. Explain to me: "in a world that gives you nothing, I need something to believe in," what does that mean? Don’t you think it’s a revival of the typical themes of Springsteen? If so, to what extent? In what way? And in what terms has Bon Jovi been "original" (if he has been, which I strongly doubt)? Explain, explain.

But why do you insist? I've already told you that I've listened to them. And I didn’t even say that you’re stupid or an idiot… why should I? Please, answer my question above. I’m waiting for your analysis on Bon Jovi.

no no Jessy, we’re not on the same page.. I want a stylistic analysis of the arrangements, the interpretations, the structures of the songs; how these structures evolve over time, what references these settings have, obviously with a nod to the historical-musical context, otherwise how can we understand how wonderfully original Bon Jovi have been? Ah! Don’t forget a nice analysis of the lyrics, how they fit into the American singer-songwriter tradition, what commonalities they have with Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen, whom you surely know, and to what extent they are rather banal imitations.. Of course, don’t forget in your analysis that we’re talking about the '80s, a generation with different needs and therefore different themes compared to those of Dylan and Springsteen.. Tell us, tell us, I’m curious.. Obviously, Francesco is also invited, and especially so. After all, I hope that if you’re responding with such fervor to some criticisms, there’s a pretty good reason behind it. So, explain it to us.
