Honestly, I also read Scaruffi very often, mostly because he has such a vast database that allows you to discover tons of bands you might not have heard of before. However, after reading many of his reviews, you start to notice that his arrogance knows no bounds (see the "tuttologia" he also mentions in Psycho); then you also realize that he is a total Snob, as it wouldn’t make sense otherwise that any record that falls under the definition of "Pop," by its very nature, cannot aspire to be considered a masterpiece, according to his reasoning. You also notice that he is essentially quite narrow-minded and biased... try analyzing all the bands from the last ten years (but you can go even further) to which he has given an 8 or 9 rating (how he loves to give ratings!); they are all bands that include in their albums a suite lasting between 15 and 20 minutes, with a hypnotic crescendo reminiscent of "sisterrayana." Now, considering that Sister Ray is a piece from almost forty years ago, I don’t see why a band that creates a suite like Sister Ray should be idolized a priori. Evidently, only Scaruffi knows. However, I, an ordinary mortal, call this one-sidedness.
