Dream Theater Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From a Memory

Yes, but... once again, I don't care about the technique; it can be whatever monster you want, it could be superior to all the ones you've mentioned (I doubt it about Emerson, you said it yourself), but I don't care. It's a keyboard that expresses nothing... the embellishments are trivial, predictable, referential, useless... I couldn't care less about the solos. I won't mention any greats; all I'll say is: ten million times better is a Ray Manzarek, a Doug Ingle, a Martin Rev, all keyboards that are functional to the piece, that enrich, add, contribute to the personality of the band (not by chance, absolutely recognizable in style and sound, beyond technique), not totally unnecessary if not downright cloying like Rudess (or like often, I admit, even Emerson himself).

Yes, yes, Ebow, in fact, I recommend the magazines... I've come to the conclusion that Italian critics are either idiots (with a few exceptions) or simply sellouts... it’s not possible to read in Rumore (one of the few magazines that SEEM serious) stuff like "Evanescence are one of the best bands in today's New Metal scene," complete with 4 out of 5 stars rating, or even worse, an overenthusiastic review of the latest pointless effort from Limp Bizkit. And don't even get me started on the albums of the month that keep piling up, like the one from Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, for which I read much more tempered critiques on Debaser... and it’s not like the situation is better elsewhere: without falling into the pure gossip of that crap Rolling Stone, the only alternative seems to be Mucchio Selvaggio, a magazine of a unique snobbery (unlike those who bash Vasco Rossi around here)... sure, there are plenty of frauds on Debaser, I’ll admit it, I'm not Lester Bangs after all, but at least you can read TRUE opinions.

It is rumored that on July 2 the Pink Floyd will perform in London again with Roger Waters... who knows what sadness it will be!

Fantastic! Great Indie Pop, a bit flashy at times... but sometimes genius! Like Molly Slips for example (I mean theirs, the original), halfway between Byrds and Jesus and Mary Chain, beautiful!

no no no, this is a beautiful album, in fact I challenge you to find a bad one, I even liked "the soft parade" a lot; I'll admit that an album like "waiting for the sun" is a bit subdued, it clearly lacks the acidic, visionary component... but this one, no, this is dirty blues, reinterpreted in the typical style of Jim and company... it may not be self-titled, but it's strange and evocative just the right amount!

Despite this, the review is well-written and quite intriguing in a couple of places; I like it.

"here everyone silent"? But it doesn't exist... this is the beginning of the creative end for the Floyd. And aside from that, do you know that saying that it’s not so much the destination that matters, but the journey taken to reach it? Well, the production before Dark Side may be more imperfect and naive, but a thousand times more fascinating and original... I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, in my opinion this album is more about the 30 million copies sold than its musical merits...

However, the review is really nice, nice, very nice.
