Oh, but this CiDii is beautiful! It reminds me of a cross between Velvet Underground (see "Spirits") and XTC... lovely lovely.

Your review gives me a rather "calm" impression of the band in question, and I believe this does not fully capture the vastness of their offering; it certainly doesn't do them full justice. However, it's nice and personal, and overall, it's an excellent start!

Truly beautiful, complete, and flawless. And the album is also gorgeous.

And then, mmmm.. that "founding fathers of Grunge" isn't exactly true.. I mean, the Dinosaurs are contemporaries of the first Grunge bands, not earlier... actually, maybe even later than Soundgarden and Green River... that Nirvana was inspired by them is obvious.. but Grunge isn't just Nirvana.

I don't agree, I preferred them before.. for me the best is "you're living all over me".. here Giuseppe is already starting to make and get a bit too much into things, in my opinion.. he becomes pompous, pretentious.. not to take anything away, huh.. the Dinosaur are great regardless, but they were better when they were more julent.

Dream Theater Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From a Memory

It is obvious that the various ballads on this album are not COVERS of the ballads by Bon Jovi or Europe.. this is because the DT would claim to play Progressive, meaning in a more extended and expressive manner.. but the tragedy is precisely that, it's the essence that doesn't change; the same flashy and redundant aesthetics, aimed at stuffing a theme that is, in itself, very banal (it could have come from the composer of Blue or Christina Aguilera), with pompous arrangements, solos, high notes, female choruses reminiscent of Pink Floyd, bombastic drums, etc. The form is different (not even that much), but the substance is the same. Useless.
