So, to answer your question about the latest Depeche Mode album (which I admit I haven't listened to in full), I find it so terribly tied to their typical standard, which has now tragically become a cliché, that it brings me a certain annoyance, along with a deeper lack of admiration for their entire body of work. Bye and see you soon! : )

no no, on the contrary, I was pleased to read your comments... and I completely agree with you when you talk about the emotional necessity of a piece's functionality... but you're also right when you mention the divergences regarding the Depeche Mode. I’ll tell you that the more time goes by, the less I can stand them : ) ..the truth is that when I listen to them, I don't pick up on any innovative ambition at all, which I really feel when listening to the Cure in their best moments. The Cure, don't get me wrong, are not innovative in the classical sense, but they found a very original formula in interpreting the song form, which is demonstrated by their continuous evolutions. The Depeche Mode, on the other hand, have remained much more tied to a substantially fixed standard, and moreover, their expressiveness is quite rhetorical (to me)..

I totally agree with Zion... for me it deserves 3 stars, but it's definitely not a masterpiece. Plus, the review is pretty hateful, especially how it starts... it seems like some kind of propaganda piece against those who criticize this album and (even more wisely) David Gilmour...

Ah, so according to you the result of the "evolution" (your quotes) of rock would have been the DT... well, in the face of such heretical monstrosity, I can't help but laugh out loud... ahahahahahahah : D ... yours is clearly a statement that shows: 1) either a poor and superficial knowledge of the history and evolution of rock, or 2) an unlimited arrogance. In either case, your post appears absolutely useless to me as a reader.
The Velvet Underground White Light/White Heat

geeno, are you kidding! : ) this record is just as good as the debut.. they’re different albums, as it should be, but in fact White Light White Heat is the perfect continuation and evolution of the previous album, from which the VV, with great taste and intelligence, pick up the most neurotic, extreme, and unique traits instead of the more melodic elements. Personally, I also prefer the first one, which is perhaps the absolute non plus ultra, but this one is still an immense record.

As you wanted to demonstrate... a horrendous record... three or four good tracks, the rest under the banner of bad taste. Really poor.

Hi Alex! The first album is "Three Imaginary Boys," which is the one with the cover (I agree, it's beautiful!) that you mentioned. "Boys Don't Cry" is a compilation, with material taken from the debut and also from the singles released the previous year, initially published for the American market. It was, let's say, a sort of alternative version of the first album for the USA. In my opinion, the good thing about it compared to the first album is that it includes "Boys Don't Cry" (I mean the song) which is actually missing from "Three Imaginary Boys" ... but other than that, the debut is better. Bye!
