A bit too long for my tastes... they are not up for discussion.
Kyuss & Q.O.T.S.A. Split Ep

But if QOTSA are the continuation of Kyuss, how did they manage to make an EP together? ..anyway, since it's there, it's unmissable..
The Warmers The Warmers

Beautiful mention. Amy Farina does an amazing job.. it's almost superior to Brendan Canty's Fugazi drumming, which is saying a lot...

I hadn't read your last comment.. but I fully agree. You've summarized what is generally my "aesthetic" as well : )

Oh well, alright then, it's actually better this way! :D ..no, I certainly don’t limit myself to criticizing Depeche Mode just for their pop orientation, which for me is often a virtue, as it’s a sign of humility. It’s rather the images used, the ambiguous nature of Gore that doesn’t really resonate with me, and I consider, with a few exceptions, to be quite rhetorical and lacking in creativity. The same exact discussion applies to the lyrics. I find them quite rhetorical. On the other hand, Smith’s lyrics are definitely more fluctuating... some are undoubtedly banal... and I’ll tell you, the same goes for the review; those that are more existentialist, from the Faith/pornography period just to clarify, are often truly unbearable (much more beautiful are those from Seventeen Seconds); but others are irresistible, like many of the lyrics from this album, which are quite light-hearted yet very evocative, or the lyrics of the beautiful "how beautiful you are," taken from a story (or poem?? I don’t remember well) by Baudelaire and adapted with great sensitivity.. bye!

I am very happy to see that our opinions on the aforementioned publications align. But then I am just as happy to ask you: what magazines do you consider noteworthy? If I've missed something interesting, please do point it out to me! Best regards, yours Easycure

In my personal impression, I must say, I have a much more pessimistic view regarding the newspaper in question. But I hope it's as you say. Of course, if you are referring to intellectual publications like Mucchio Selvaggio or Rockerilla, I remain of my opinion. In fact, the aforementioned magazines are even worse, considering they would even have the audacity to appeal to a "higher" audience. My opinion, anyway :) ... Most respectful regards in return. Franz Ferdinand You Could Have It So Much Better

Yes, but even assuming that originality is not a fundamental pretext, the FF remain a superficial product, lacking expressive depth and now rather dull as well, without truly creative citations... it seems to me there’s no escape in wanting to judge them (that it's just my opinion is obvious, but if one didn't want to discuss based on a principle of objectivity, then it wouldn't make sense to even start these discussions), unless one follows the questionable principles mentioned above.

In this, Mr. Sfasciacarrozze is right; we don't really care about the NME.. : ) But as I wrote, the problem is that the NME's approach seems to have become a real "philosophy" common to most, if not all, of the print music publications; which, I believe we can agree, is quite depressing.. I used to enjoy finding inspiration in those magazines in the past, but nowadays, without falling into sentimentality, it seems increasingly difficult if not impossible! : ) Best regards. Easycure
