Well, the '90s were years of avant-gardes. Something that the '00s weren't (so between the two decades I wouldn't have any doubts about which one to choose). The '90s started with Loveless and Spiderland, let's not forget that (and also with Repeater). I'm not saying that the multinationals didn't release crap, that's obvious, it's intrinsic to their DNA :-D ..nonetheless, they released stuff like Downward Spiral or Life is Peachy, all great albums in their "own little way".. today it would be more difficult, also due to the increasingly intellectual nature of what's called underground.. and then already from the end of the '80s just look at that trend: Sonic Youth, Screaming Trees, then Nirvana and then Mudhoney all moving to the multinationals in succession.

Hi Reverse! No, I was actually talking about that, in the '90s, purely for reasons of interest, obviously, but there was a different culture among the majors.. if a record like that, light years away from being "easy" in the MTV sense of the term, was produced and distributed at that level.

I completely agree.. of course, if these were the major releases of the '90s.. it's not an essential masterpiece like most of Fugazi's albums, but an album with truly unique geometries. Alessio from Imperial ffrr of Unrest, what do you think?

It sounds super interesting. Too bad that from how you describe them the pieces must be quite long, and I hate long pieces; they really annoy me. The review rocks!

mmmm, in all the descriptions I've read, yours is the best confirmation that I would NOT enjoy this album.. just like I liked very little of what has come out of New York in recent years. bye alè!

I really liked your review.. regarding the fact that a group like that, based on your description, is an example of music with a true identity in Italy, I have some doubts..

I liked it, even though the best is the third one, which I found nothing to envy from the old ones. This rating is 3.5.
