Well, I’ve heard various people share the opinion that Loveless is unbearable.. I don’t understand why it shouldn’t be considered that for some people it’s a beautiful, good sonic orgasm (me first and foremost, without a doubt).. in any case, the fact that that record elicits such extreme reactions is one of the cornerstones of its greatness. X Popolo: Yes, I play in the Italian Cure cover band called with my nickname.. “luckily” I also have a group where I do my own stuff :-)

Yes People, indeed that EP can be interpreted in various ways depending on what it reminds you of, even the Cramp style fits perfectly :-)... I can't tell you which bands were part of that scene (which "famous" ones I mean, I don't necessarily think Virgin Prunes), but it's well-known that in '85 there was a dark scene in Dublin that used to play in the basements of pubs in Temple Bar... by the way, I once played there too, with the English cover band of The Cure (but in '03) and indeed those were places that were well suited for certain types of music :-D

"Innocent indie-pop as it already circulated in the form of 45s by Primitives, Primal Scream, Shop Assistants" well, I wouldn't say that, certainly not entirely. Back in the UK there were hundreds of indie-pop bands (see the huge archive available on indiepop.it), but while in most cases the songs were recorded in a rather sloppy way, with a creative foundation that was also strictly Beatles-esque, having no other pretext than to tell the most classic "stories of life," the my bloody valentine since the true turning point track, "Lovelee sweet darlene," already have an intention that is nevertheless exploratory, unlike the majority of those you mentioned: theirs is already visionary music, with an atmospheric structure more than strictly pop, certainly very close to JAMC but light-years away from a band like Joseph K.. I'm also not entirely in agreement with you regarding their early work: instead of garage, it seems more like a '60s version of Bauhaus, in any case, their environment was that of the dark groups in Dublin.

Thank you so much, People! I found Wimple winch and les fleur de lys (I fished between the two names that inspired me the most to start).

"It doesn’t matter who you’re impacting, but how you do it and why you do it," this is certain, and indeed, let's be clear, they are irrelevant today, especially the terms independent and major. I absolutely agree with your extremist view. As for the '00s, personally, I unfortunately find this decade to be marked by pure crap. Not in terms of individual groups, but certainly in terms of logic and approach. If independent and major are terms that no longer make sense, it’s also because in the independent scene, the crap truly doesn’t count, and from this perspective, maybe Italy isn’t doing that badly (at least not worse than others). It's still an ongoing decade, but it’s precisely the approach that doesn’t aim at changing perspectives, despicable: there’s no language, there’s no genre; indeed, I want "genre" back as it was understood ten years ago, because today being without genre seems like an excuse to sell hot air. I’ve counted only five truly valid records (at least based on what I’ve listened to): the two by Clouddead, the two by Broken Social Scene, Mirrored by Battles, and maybe a couple of others that I can’t recall (oh, also Jennifer Gentle); I’ll conclude with an extremist concept as well: I prefer a single Spiderland (or a Loveless or a Nevermind) to the 100,000 records released in the last seven years that fall under the definition of neo folk (which, in my opinion, shouldn’t even make sense because of the name) or to the various Toys Orchestra and hundreds of similar bands wandering around the world.
