larrok, you keep looking at the background; focus on the performance. I couldn't care less about that and how much they have studied.

hahaha, Matt, Portnoy superior to Collins.. I'm still skeptical, I'm sorry, about your culture.. not because I doubt that you have a ton of records, but simply because you continuously make statements that don't make any sense. So maybe I’ll tell you this: RIsentiti better some records. :-)

Ah, Fred, now let's start reasoning! :-D ..this is my ideal image of technique, and we totally agree. But knowledge-experience-technique is what shapes a unique approach to the scheme, which is therefore original. However, what the cavemen disregarded, just as rock often does, is exactly the opposite of your equation: that is to say, technique-experience-knowledge. You will admit that this, phenomenologically, is just as indisputable as your premise, and precisely because I share your same premise, it’s horrendous to me.

Matt, you're still not getting it: we're operating on two different tracks: do you realize that? It's all too clear that Portnoy is not "a mediocre player"... who cares, I say: even Vasco Rossi's drummer isn't "a mediocre player"... there are other components, if you've listened to DT and similar bands your whole life, it's obvious you won't really have much idea.

But in fact, I would never dream of saying that Collins didn’t have his references. On the contrary! It’s all too obvious that his school is jazz... I'm talking about interpretation, about what he manages to convey in the piece. And that’s something I don’t feel at all in Portnoy: furthermore, you say that Portnoy varies a lot: never denied (I was talking about repeating the same phrases in the ballads, that is, only in a part of the pieces). But your argument is detached from the song: it’s not their background that I'm analyzing, it’s the way they use it in the piece: if Portnoy seems like a machine for quotations, Collins forgets what he has learned and synthesizes it for the sake of the piece. Portnoy is pure reference: I do what I have. Collins is functionality, expression for something, not as something. Which is still perfectly in line with the logic of his group.

Matt, you keep clinging to the discussion like a parasite without saying anything :-D ..well.. anyway, I could easily give you examples of professional drummers who have anything but a good opinion of Portnoy.. but that’s not what matters: what matters is that there isn’t just one perspective on how much independence/coordination you have, or how many feels per second you can pull off, etc. etc. perhaps you’re lacking a bit of rock history culture to grasp this concept... in fact, it’s evident.

Fred, it's false: apart from challenging anyone to prove that reproducing one's handprint on the wall is a technique, it still cannot be defined as technical because the concept of a scheme does not exist: they are not based on teaching, on reproducing a canon; they are pure sensitivity of the one who creates them, that is, exactly the opposite of a technical scheme.

3) "But what do you know about me? How dare you?" ... in fact, I don't know a damn thing, idiot... you're so spineless that you don't have the guts to authenticate yourself. How much of an idiot are you? How much do you ramble on? :-D

2) "Your reasoning is wrong, that's not the way to judge and write about a group. You just need to be an educated person to understand that. But from you, who only knows how to throw shit at those who challenge you, what can one expect?" My reasoning is wrong: why? In what way? Where? How? Answer: there isn't one :-D you don't say a damn thing, you haven't said a damn thing, you continue to not say a damn thing, and then you get upset with me expecting to prove that I speak for free? :-D AHAHAHAH you’re out of your mind, you’re totally dissociated, you’re unwell, poor thing.. you don’t admit reality because you don’t know how to deal with it, so you invent your own where you are generous with arguments and I instead speak for free AHAHAH :-D you are really pathetic, poor thing, you’re really unwell.. I almost feel sorry for you, actually :-D
