Hi Sanjuro! :-) I think it's absolutely logical that you prefer this (which, according to many, is "the other" masterpiece by Fugazi along with Repeater). See you soon and best wishes! :-)

I don't know what you mean by "folk music" and "hipster indie"... but probably it lies in how we interpret these definitions the different importance we assign to the influence of the Talking Heads... ;-) What do Ramones and TH have in common? Nothing, except for the fact that they are both from New York, that they are from the same era, that they both have the same musical purpose (which is essentially a revolutionary one), that they are both part of the same movement (and I emphasize movement, not genre), that they have both been innovative, original, influential, and spakkaossa. Of course, there are many differences, but obviously, my comparison was anything but random.

Far from me, at this time, anything close to dark... what can I say, despite my nickname, I am pop, very pop at heart :-) But your suggestions are always worth considering, anyway...
Starflower Moments In The Sun

You've convinced me. Generally nothing more than the usual revivalism shamelessly defined as "indie"... but your enthusiasm is infectious.

No, wait.. I think the comment from "mavvammoriammazzato" has nothing to do with DaveJon.. there were a couple of mysterious users who showed up on the review of Muse-Absolution; go ahead and enjoy it if you have a bit of time :-D

There’s no need to make any list, Dave, just read your own review: you talk about "a technical music, but easy to listen to," "good music without straining the ear too much," "an AOR in search of hits"; where the significance of all this lies is a mystery to me; it might be enjoyable, sure, who cares, but to say "one of the best bands of the '70s" from that… the only logical conclusion is that the '70s don’t go beyond progressive, NWOBHM, and glam (and AOR)… because otherwise there are a few hundred better than these… :-D Moreover, you contradict yourself by saying: "Nothing exceptional, but undoubtedly music for all ears," but then how can they be among the best of the '70s? Oh well… I repeat: to "enlighten you," your own review suffices, you answered yourself ;-D …good luck!
