Great work. Five stars seem a bit excessive, though, as much as I love Elliott... It's true that the recordings date back to his most prolific period, but it’s also clear that the best tracks ended straight on fantastic works like "roman candle," "elliott smith," and "either/or." Then, of course, with that unique blend of voice and guitar, there are certainly little forgotten gems of poignant lyricism and intensity like "angel in the snow," "talking to mary," "half right," and the enchanting "new disaster," which are capable of confirming that poor Elliott was probably the best songwriter of the last 15 years... the bare version of "Miss Misery" is also stunning, with different lyrics and a bitter "'Cause it's all right, some enchanted night I'll be with you." Anyway, there are other excellent unreleased tracks by Elliott in the archives, like "no name#6," and they will probably be released soon. After all, I don't think we can talk about speculation (Elliott certainly didn’t have a pretty face like Jeff Buckley, and we’re talking about negligible sales), but rather an act of respect towards an artist highly regarded by his peers, who has all the credentials to fuel an ever-growing underground cult, potentially leading to something not too dissimilar from the attention given to Nick Drake.

@peggiopunk, I wouldn't know who to name in the biggest group, but I definitely say Neil Young, haha. @festwca and zigghio. Yes, all the albums by Husker Du are amazing, but "Warehouse" has a superior lyricism, only comparable to "Zen Arcade." The lyrics of "These Important Years," for example, are magnificent. And then that line in the booklet: The revolution begins at home in the morning, looking at yourself in the mirror. You can't forget that.

Thank you once again to everyone for the comments and the great debate: I know I’m going against the grain on Husker Du, but the album I love most from Mould and Hart, even more than the monumental and essential "Zen Arcade," is the concluding "Warehouse: Songs and Stories." Bob's lyrics, in particular, are simply magnificent, the melodies enchanting, and all the songs are perfect. I recommend it to anyone who, due to age-related reasons, hasn’t had the chance to discover it yet. @sfasciacarrozze, after 80 reviews in here, I took some poetic license hehe…

seen years ago during Erasmus, in the throes of alcoholic delirium... I have no clear memory of it, alas.

calm down: my comment was obviously ironic too, Mike!
Neil Young Live At Massey Hall 1971

I had missed this one, well done. No need to comment on the album, the version of "there's a world," with its airy piano and voice, would be worth the purchase on its own... now let's hope the other volumes from the vast archives arrive soon... very beautiful the dedication on the cover to Dave Briggs, Neil's long-time collaborator and producer, who at the time suggested to Neil to release it in 1971... Neil, of course, did his own thing and went to Nashville to record "harvest," but now he recognizes that Briggs was right. In my opinion, Neil did the right thing, but this dedication to the late Briggs is very touching.

Dear Mike, but here we are all gay, didn’t you know? Debaser is an offshoot of the gay lobby that wants to dismantle the family. Then, as they said in Jerry Calà's "Vacanze in America"... "these Turks... they're so tough!!!"

I agree, for me "old ways" is the worst: a sickly and anemic country... "trans," on the other hand, is a bold album, certainly not successful but worth your attention.
