Are you kidding? This review is excellent, especially for the analysis of the texts.

This time you got me: I had dug out the CD and was planning to write something about it... the album isn't their best work ("III" is unsurpassable). At times, there's a bit too much conciseness and some winks to the mainstream. I prefer the Jurassic echoes of "beauty of the ride," the Velvetian touches of "too pure," and the Dylan-like melody layered in "on fire" over the sappy "willing to wait." Lowenestein's contributions are loud but easily dispensable, except for the Pixies-like "can't give up." Anyway, it's an album I listened to a lot; it reminds me of my 19 years. Time flies, alas!

But of course, party: you know that when I catch Younghian echoes, I go full throttle, haha… jokes aside, get this record: it’s really worth it! @boredom, you’re definitely right, Grant always cited Joy Division as his main influence for a reason… and you can definitely hear it.
Metallica Live In Birmingham NEC 5/11/1992

That the Black Album is nothing less than the "absolute masterpiece" of Metallica seems to me a highly debatable statement... at best, it's their best album of the 90s.

Ah, sorry for my ignorance: I knew about the French in Louisiana, but I really had no idea what the term Cajun meant! You learn so many things on Debaser...
