I find Ratt quite acceptable, and considering that '80s glam/hard rock usually makes me feel like crap, that's a plus for them! :D

@47: you can find it for 17.90 at fnac, I got mine online. @Holdsworth: for me, NPT is a great album too, just like this one.

I bought "Monster" a little while ago; I intended to pick up a couple of Thomas's albums from the '80s, given the positive comments I had heard around, but unfortunately, I couldn't find the single CDs, so I opted to get the box set/collection, which I found for 28 euros, really nice.

Still on the subject of juicy box sets, I would also mention "Monster," which gathers the first 5 studio LPs of David Thomas solo ("the sound of the sand"/"variations on a theme"/"more places forever"/"monster walks the winter lake"/"blame the messenger"), also at a bargain price.

I bought progrock online at Fnac for 17.90 euros, a great deal.

Yes, the CDs inside are in lightweight cardboard sleeves and are divided by year, not by album: cd1 75/77, cd2 78/79, cd3 80/82, cd4 various and miscellaneous. Anyway, go ahead and buy the modern dance single, it's worth it!

I have exactly that box set, blech: "Datapanik in year zero"...4 CDs containing the first singles and the first 5 LPs for 17 euros...absolutely not to be missed!

Perhaps they let themselves get a bit carried away with experimentation, but I think the result is excellent. Of course, they were no longer the ones from modern dance... great review. Aside from the fact that Ubu have almost never disappointed me, I also like the much-maligned period from '88 to '93 when they produced pop-rock, imho, of great quality.
