Mollet, if by simplicity you mean the Sex Pistols and the Ramones (whom I also adore), you are right, but punk has generated sooooo much more, and many punk-derived groups were supported by superb technique (like the Minutemen).

One of the first Jazz records I bought, at the time I didn't even know who Ornette Coleman was. A fairly "minor" album of his, but always excellent. Great reception.
