The albums I’ve listened to by Vai are a celebration of bad taste and compositional nothingness. A lot of technique, little imagination. I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again, Vai is perfect when he has to play on pieces written by others, as is the case with Zappa.

Beautiful album. The fact that De Andrè, regarding the lyrics, outshines Vecchioni is nonsense... he's a bit above, but not as much as one would like to believe. "L'uomo che si gioca il cielo a dadi," "Luci a San Siro"... well!
