"Or rather, focusing everything solely on catchy melodicism, often for its own sake," well Lux, what else could they aim for? They were fundamentally a pop group. :D

Alright Lux, but you always make the same arguments about influences and historical importance. I’ve said it too, that there have been infinitely more important groups musically, but the Beatles' albums from RS onwards are gems of pop. Three-minute pop songs, melodically perfect. This is what I have always expected from a Beatles album; I certainly never thought I would find experimental albums. Unfortunately, I know that talking to people like David81 makes it hard not to dislike the fab four.

It’s all the fault of the dark dwarfs that come out of the manholes and nibble at your heels. :D

What I think of the Beatles I've already written before: the first period is quite weak, except for a few songs; the second period (from Rubber Soul onwards) is great pop (with some hints of rock). The bands that revolutionized music are others, but I still listen to the Beatles' records very often. Because, fundamentally, I'm a softie...:DDD

But Lux and Larrok, you who are brothers? I always see you on the same reviews...:DD

Unfortunately, it's fans like this David81 that cause the Beatles to be mocked continuously, and this really pisses me off. But it could also be a fake, be careful!

Oh my gosh, I've missed a FANTASTIC series of nonsense from our new David81... you should have called me! :D

Acqualife, you took the words right out of my mouth... if an artist doesn't feel 100% free, their music will always be limited. Certainly, jazz has had its ups and downs in terms of popularity, but right now, the chance of becoming a billionaire playing jazz is pretty minimal... :D

"It's not true that those who play for money or success don't make great music" --> in some cases it might even be true, but the main problem is this: those who want to make money must ride a trend, they have to play the music that is "in fashion."

Indeed, dear Panthera, I didn't write that jazz is the ONLY genre that is played MAINLY for passion...if you reread the post, you will notice. :DD
