"statistically it doesn't show" --> how come? in the statistics, the stolen balls are indeed present!!

"but that doesn't take away from the fact that he was truly great" --> in fact, he's my all-time favorite player, not for nothing... :DD

"Doctor J was superior to Bird in everything" mmm I have some doubts about that, Bird's main characteristic was his competitive fierceness (in a good way), which was much less present in the Doctor. He was also a better passer.

Don, my response regarding the Dumars issue and the autograph is independent of any animosity between him and Jordan. To the fan who wants an autograph from a PROFESSIONAL basketball player, league disputes may not matter at all. Dumars behaved like a child, like an unserious person. In fact, I'll tell you that this incident clashes with the image I had of Joe.

"it's not just any Wilkes" --> but even less a Jordan, you would agree.

What I find a bit disappointing is that the title finally won by the 76ers in '83 is attributed (rightly in my opinion) more to Moses than to the Doctor. After the undisputed dominance (because that’s what it was) of '82-'83, Malone never reached those levels again, although he remained one of the best. Some injuries (a few total games lost, but always at the end of the season when it mattered) and the passing years put him farther away from where it counted. Still, a tremendous Moses. I’d love to see a showdown of "Shaq 2000 vs Moses '83."

I also want to say that Doctor J did take beatings from Bird (who was anyway stronger), but until the arrival of Moses Malone in the Sixers jersey, he managed to lead a team that was significantly inferior to the competitors Boston and Los Angeles to the finals twice ('80 and '82). I mean, they had Thunder Chocolate and Caldwell under the basket, if you know what I mean!! :(((

Between Bird and the Doctor, I've always cheered for the Doctor. Anyway, according to what many insiders say: the Doctor in the early years of the ABA was one of the most dominant players in history, comparable to Jordan in the '90s. Alexander: Wilkins has always excited me, but he lacked that "something extra" (..like Drexler) that the various Magic, Bird, and Jordan had.. it's undeniable, really.

You are free to think that Jordan played in a great NBA --> No, Alexander, I’m also convinced that the era of Magic/Bird/Doctor J/Moses is the best in terms of quality. What I want to convey is that we can’t say for sure what Jordan could have done if he had been born in '53 instead of '63. Maybe he would have struggled, maybe he would have dominated everyone, who knows.
