AA.VV. 1991: The Year Punk Broke

Of course I agree with "you were so cute." Alessioride hasn't learned anything yet; he keeps attacking a genre that has nothing to do with punk and therefore with the review. But since something is itching him (maybe a cotton swab got stuck), he has to shoot down everything. The world is diverse (in the sense that what you say about hair metal, many say about punk). I find even a certain punk and its false ideology repugnant. The so-called hair metal (which, however, doesn't exist, but for convenience, we mention it) and a lot of punk are two extreme ideologies: one excessively hedonistic and the other shouting death to the system, wanting to be dirty, poor, and smelly. So these two ideologies completely disgust me, at least not in terms of music and therefore in punk. From a bunch of pimple-faced kids who play two chords, I'm looking for profound lyrics that critique the system; I'm not so foolish as to criticize the system with punk lyrics. Punk doesn't disgust me; it would disgust me maybe if "in many cases" I only paid attention to the lyrics. I’ll vote for you again!
Francis Ford Coppola Dracula di Bram Stoker

a haunting and fascinating Dracula. The movie "Van Helsing" is a useless mess full of empty special effects; in this film, however, there is style, class, and elegance—truly excellent. Some scenes might also come across as dull, but looking at the sets and the cinematography, I see nothing but great cinema, and that is enough for me...

Just to tell you that I don't like Guns N' Roses either, and I don't tear my hair out over Queen, but that doesn't mean I come out saying that the entire genre is crap. Also because hair metal is a critics' invention; it doesn’t exist, since Guns are not metal at all, and neither are Queen. That's an aesthetic definition. We're talking about melodic hard rock, often with sounds close to metal, but it has also produced remarkable bands that drew from blues and 70s rock influences. We need to dig deeper, have fewer prejudices, and especially not try to conform to the usual snobbish criticism that frowns upon every little thing that touches or even just approaches metal (thankfully, not all critics are like that).

Alessio, look, you can write a review without needing to insult genres you know nothing about other than the aesthetics and a few songs. Talk about what you need to talk about and stop being a pain in the ass.

The movie isn't cursed because it was designed to be, and in some parts, it tries to flatter a certain underground-loving audience, but giving it a 1 seems absurd to me. Moreover, the themes addressed in Taxi Driver are different (the comparison doesn’t hold at all, Poletti), and the film certainly has a subversive charge, and not a negligible one. For example, the final scene with the buildings of high finance and power (thus the order and the status quo) blowing up, the subliminal messages. In short, the film flows well and you never get tired of watching it; rather, I criticize the message that can come out of it, namely that whoever distances themselves from the system is a damned subversive and terrorist or a crazed anarcho-Nihilist. The final scene is exemplary: without order, is there death? Meh! Let’s give it a 4, more for the pleasure of watching it (the subversive message is fake), because it's a joy to see, 100% cinema.
Carlo Verdone Viaggi Di Nozze

I agree with your speech, eletto1987, but for me, a Chinese person in a coma can still meet the requirements; this one, however, does not. But of course, it's a matter of taste.

eletto1987, in my opinion "c'era un cinese in coma" is a funny movie, at least not predictable and with the usual seen-and-reseen characters of "viaggi di nozze." Beppe Fiorello is very entertaining in that film; it's a faded copy of his movies from the 80s.

this may be enjoyable (but also not) only if you have never seen a Verdone film, of course not everyone will think like me, but the characters are the same as in the previous films from the 80s, just recycled and updated (like the rock couple). Fun to watch once, but after that, total boredom.

I watched the film and it was a pleasant experience. Then I reassessed Mammuccari; I was so uninformed that I thought the supercazzola was invented by him. In the end, I had never seen the film, so I couldn't have known, and I was a bit justified. Despite the comedy of the movie, it ultimately leaves a strong dose of somewhat disturbing melancholy. I didn't like every part of this film; there are some over-the-top bits that annoyed me. Perhaps on a second viewing I will consider it a masterpiece, but anyway, no one can take away a solid 4 from it.

It's a film that doesn't resonate even with those who generally love commercial movies (not even some of my friends who live for X-Men or Spider-Man liked it), so just imagine what a piece of junk it is. A few funny moments, but it’s really just a little film. However, the most outrageous thing is the publicity it received from all the news channels, with interviews and unrestrained praise...
