Pupi Avati La cena per farli conoscere
Voto:
I haven't seen the film, but perhaps you are a bit harsh with Avati, who has nonetheless made beautiful and original films throughout his career. Whether this one is a mess, I can't say, but among the Italian directors to be rejected, Avati certainly does not belong to that group. And enough with the usual victimhood; I agree that many Italian directors are influenced by television, but not all of them. For example, I quite like Sorrentino; "The Consequences of Love" (don't be scared off by the title, it's a film that straddles noir and drama) is a really great film. There are others too, but the problem is that more mediocre directors like Pieraccioni, Vanzina, Muccino, or Ozpetek are promoted and supported. It's the fault of television that backs these directors because good films are still coming out in Italy. American TV, on the other hand, imitates cinema; just look at how some TV series now surpass many Hollywood movies in terms of plot and thematic depth. So, there is a higher standard in their series. For example, it's hard to watch a TV series like "Carabinieri" in the USA, but they have "Seventh Heaven," which in some cases is even worse.
Luciano Salce Fantozzi
Voto:
Totò has made few masterpiece films (I think of "Totò, Peppino e la Malafemmina"), just like Villaggio (in my opinion, only the first two Fantozzi films). The greatness of both lies in the characters, in the caricatures they created, in becoming a symbol, almost an archetype of Italian-ness that ensures that even in weak films there are still memorable gags. Dear Poletti, Totò's films at the time were treated as we treat Vanzina's today, but that doesn't change the fact that even in films that it is foolish to call masterpieces, there are still memorable gags. Fantozzi is somewhat the symbol of the submissive public employee, a slave to his habits and his meaningless life. Totò, on the other hand, fully represents the Italian as he is often seen abroad. Why say one is better while the other is inferior? They are different.
Incubus Fungus Amongus
Voto:
For me, Incubus has always been a band of good caliber. Sure, during the times of "Science" and this album (partly also "Make Yourself"), they were really ahead of their time, experimenting, and along with Faith No More, they were among the best representatives of crossover music. However, setting aside the image that the media wants to give us of Brandon (that is, as a teen idol) and the video for "Wish You Were Here," the lyrics and music have always been good. Certainly, they are less particular and outlandish, but I can't find the melodic lines and arrangements of Incubus in any other current rock bands that always sound familiar to me.
Iced Earth The Dark Saga
Voto:
great review, great album, although I prefer the following something wicked this way comes, which is more diverse. I believe they are mistakenly classified as power metal, because power metal is now understood to mean the European style, like Helloween and Gamma Ray, so very melodic, often with choirs, etc., while Iced Earth are a mix between Iron Maiden and Metallica (at least in this album), with a melodic sensibility far from European power, let’s say power thrash. To be precise, massimo alfredo giuseppe maria!
Fernando Meirelles City Of God (Citade de Deus)

I had a review ready for this beautiful film, then the power went out and nothing came of it. Definitely a beautiful film highly recommended, imagine a plot in the style of Tarantino and Scorsese set in the Brazilian favelas, and you'll have a rough idea of the kind of film that still has its own originality and personality. A semi-masterpiece: 4.5

Hello, welcome fake, but perhaps you’ve got the wrong website, we’re not on Maria De Filippi’s. Anyway, we will probably soon add you to the list of human cases, so you too will join the large and numerous family of Debaser. Hi and enjoy your stay.

Indeed, Pier Silvio Berlusconi and Violante Placido, not to mention Alberto Angela, are excellent examples of privileged children so full of talent that one is dazzled by it. You deserve a 5. Long live L'Italietta!!!

Let’s say that they are now enjoying more favor, especially due to the fact that Newsted (former Metallica) joined the group years ago and also because of the death of guitarist Piggy.

The critics rightly praise them. It’s the metalheads who snub them instead. I have Dimension Hatross and it's a truly beautiful and forward-thinking album for its time (1988).
