Great record! The best one is probably "the hive" with that guitar riff that stays with you for days!
Alice Cooper Pretties For You

Alice is a legend! I have to get my hands on this album! Anyway, it’s true that so many bands have really borrowed from Alice Cooper! In America, he’s a legend; in Europe, he has never received the recognition he deserves!

easycure, in my opinion, personality and originality are not strictly linked. By originality in music, I mean a different discourse, experimenting with new sounds, etc. By personality, I’m referring to a band that doesn’t invent anything but manages to create a unique sound and still finds different paths within an already explored genre. In short, they might use a riff that has been used before, but they don't do it as plagiarism; instead, they might distort it, embellish it on that riff, making it their own! I consider Dream Theater personal from this point of view, perhaps less so than some other bands; derivative, sure, but excellent composers!
Eros Ramazzotti In ogni senso

"Probably 'In every sense' encapsulates all the styles and facets that Italian music has produced over the span of fifty years!" but this is crazy! Ramazzotti fitting half a century of Italian music into a single album? Come on, don't you think that's pretentious? And then he says that the Smashing Pumpkins make noise, really!!! What, does he listen to Nilla Pizzi? If the Smashing Pumpkins make noise, then Cannibal Corpse are the soundtrack of a washing machine on spin cycle!!!

In fact, I don't understand this animosity toward the band either. My ire would be directed at many fans who even think they are the forefathers of progressive rock and inventors of prog metal (?). I repeat, they were brave—no, more than brave, they were intuitive. At that time, prog was far from being a trendy genre! They spiced it up with metal! They weren't the first; there could be arguments about whether they were the first or if it was Fates Warning or someone else (certainly not the great Queensrÿche, who still need to explain to me what is progressive about albums like Operation: Mindcrime or Empire), but they had a great intuition. And, as Fidia rightly pointed out, a band should be judged on whether they make good songs, not on whether they are original or not! What kind of reasoning is that? Original bands in music that propose something new in each era can be counted on the fingers of one hand! In their own way, Dream Theater influenced a particular conception of metal, generating clone bands and a new trend—not a new sound, but a new fashion, yes!!!!

easycure's compositions are well-crafted and well-played; of course, that's not enough, so let's say that the songwriting is polished! When it comes to personality, Dream Theater has it in the sense that when you hear them, you know it's them and you don't mistake them for some other band. They aren’t original, but in my opinion, a lack of originality isn’t always a disadvantage. I repeat, they had a great insight; they didn't invent anything, but they had the guts to play a tougher kind of progressive rock at a time when experimentation was not particularly trendy and when grunge was at its peak, tolerating songs lasting no more than 4 minutes and featuring two or three chords per song (of course, I'm talking about the mainstream, not everyone). Then there's the issue of lyrics. Back then, depressing lyrics like "I'm dying, I'm in the shit!" were in vogue, whereas Dream Theater took a completely different approach; they might seem cheesy, but they spoke of hope, love, and sometimes even abstract things! Sure, listening to King Crimson, Rush, Genesis, and Yes (to talk about the bands that influenced them the most) has put them in perspective for me, but that doesn't change the fact that, objectively speaking, it's a good album. We can debate whether it’s a masterpiece or not, but it’s an excellent album that paved the way and introduced many to the sounds of the '70s, and that's not insignificant!
Metallica Kill 'em All

But are you sure it's vic sorriso? vic sorriso is someone who writes miles-long reviews, capable of jumping from Metallica to Beethoven in a single review, and in between Gigi D'Agostino! He can introduce an album like this: "this album is shit: today I'm in the Caribbean trying to get a blowjob from a beautiful Cuban, the sun is high on the horizon, and in the background there's Beethoven's 9th Symphony, only this fucking Cuban likes Gigi D'Agostino, all of this makes me realize that Metallica are just four little bastards!" In short, stuff like that without sense, while here there is a sense.
Anyway, the review is shit and the stench is really strong!

Dream Theater are derivative, it’s true, but the greatness of a band is also seen in how they manage to use their influences, creating a sound that, while not original, is nonetheless personal. Of course, if you listen to Rush, you realize how much Dream Theater owe to this group, as well as to Yes and other prog bands. Still, personally, this album mixes these influences without resorting to plagiarism. I haven't listened to the other albums yet, so I can't judge them, but this one is excellent. Perhaps I exaggerated with a 5, but it definitely deserves a 4, and it has created its own small revolution; although it hasn’t invented anything, it effectively kicked off prog-metal. If many prog bands are not forgotten, it’s partly thanks to Dream Theater, who inspired a generation of grunge addicts to discover progressive music! In short, in 1992, making an album with songs almost as long as suites, filled with hyper-technicality, was considered blasphemy—it was seen as retro—so they certainly had courage!

Besides the fact that there are already several reviews, yours is a bit too biased; in short, the album should be commented on with a little more objectivity. It’s right to express the passion and love for an album, but that’s not all! Anyway, it’s a great album, unlike the detractors for whom it has now become a trend to trash the Dream Theater!
