Brizz, you're making the same mistake as Killgod. Well, yes, for many, Judas Priest can be considered superior to Iron Maiden, and there's nothing wrong with thinking that. I prefer Iron Maiden, but historically, Judas Priest are more significant (even if they're less famous than Iron). Judas Priest released the first album that was, in every way, heavy metal (in iconography and sound), and they have influenced metal more than anyone else, even more than Iron Maiden, so I think comparisons can’t really be made. Some consider Saxon better than Iron Maiden, and those opinions deserve respect too! The discussion of whether one is better than the other is always subjective!

Come on, killgod, don’t you think you’re being a bit over the top? You think Iron Maiden are terrible, but others don’t. Respect other people’s opinions and stop being rude. Also, I’ll repeat, there are bands that you listen to that I find useless, so de gustibus.

Hi Sanjuro, the Dillinger Escape Plan are indeed the godfathers of a certain way of conceiving grind. I can actually say that 80% of current grind bands owe their sound to the Dillinger. The only thing is that the Dillinger (at least in the albums I’ve listened to, and I haven’t heard Miss Machine) are not strictly grind! Calculating Infinity was released in the late '90s, offering sounds that were previously unknown and that influenced many hardcore-metal bands as well. My advice is to listen to "Calculating Infinity" and the EP "Irony Is a Dead Scene" with Mike Patton on vocals; the latter is completely different from their usual sound. For the first one I recommended, listen to it with virgin ears and without prejudice. Maybe listening to it today it seems less sensational (not for me), but back then it was something new!

I’m the first: the album has already been reviewed. Do you have something new, something interesting to add compared to the other reviews?

I recommend the EP with Mike Patton, truly brilliant, and then Calculating Infinity!

You are brave to write a review like this; however, it's well written. Well done!

Congratulations, I had kind of lost track of you, but you’ve come back in style! Everything you wrote has a touch of tragicomedy, and indeed I see the Vatican this way!!!!

their true masterpiece for me personally is the EP with Mike Patton, a crazy and brilliant record like few others. This album came out like a bolt from the blue, because it truly advanced the concept of extremity; maybe it doesn't drive me as wild as the EP because many bands have shamelessly copied from Dillinger and unfortunately tarnished their sound! Anyway, great CD!

Brizz, are you specifically looking for reviews that have already been done? All the albums reviewed by you are already on Debaser!!!!

Well-written review, although I still think saying that they started their decline with Lateralus is nonsense, but hey, it's a subjective opinion!
