Great review. The band is one of those on my waiting list, as I'm very interested in aor as a genre, especially its harder side (rock, of course ee)!
W.A.S.P. W.A.S.P.

Fidia is right, W.A.S.P. have nothing to do with black, death, and thrash. You mentioned almost all the metal genres, while W.A.S.P. have always played great hard rock with glam influences, as Fidia said!
Kansas Leftoverture

Another note: all the songs I recommended to you, if you're also interested in downloading them, are on "leftoverture." Take my advice, listen to them (especially "the wall" and I'll also include "cheyenne anthem"! )

Hello Krystal, I think Kansas have made even more moving songs (just my personal opinion), so I can recommend other songs that I think you'll really like, such as "Carry on my wayward son" (this song holds a record; it's the one that has had the most radio airplay in the history of music, at least in the USA) and especially "The Wall," a deep, amazing ballad. I also dissociate myself from roby86, who spoke of light prog. In Kansas, there are several prog inserts, but their musical proposal is not confined to one genre; just think that for many they are the founders of both pomp rock and art rock (just look at their album covers). Another suggestion: listen to "Magnus Opus" from the album "Leftoverture," and you might get rid of several prog-metal records and more, beginning to reassess Dream Theater, a band that is a bit overrated. Listen to "Leftoverture," a magical album. Another note, there’s a violinist in the band. Well done!

"that would have surprised me again" I meant to say, not "they had surprised me." Sorry, but I wrote in a hurry!

I vote for the album

absolute masterpiece, and to think that it didn't excite me at first listen. I have almost the entire discography of Opeth and didn't believe they would surprise me again. A must-listen several times for those who already know Opeth! Far from a downward slope!

The meshuggah that drive me crazy are those from destroy erase improve, devastating even in the following albums, but the element of surprise has faded! Future Breed Machine is one of the best songs in all of extreme metal!
