So, first of all, Fosca, thank you for your kind words about both this review and the one on the Bauhaus.
Regarding the Mission song, I believe you are referring to "Butterfly on a Wheel," which is featured on *Carved in Sand* from 1990 and is considered the band’s most beautiful ballad.
As for the rest, I honestly wouldn’t know how to respond regarding the authorship of the original "Marian" (though I believe it’s Cohen's) and whether the songs by the artists you mentioned are covers of it.
Anyway, I must congratulate you because I see that you are an expert in the genre, but with one caveat.
How can you possibly be indifferent to the Sisters of Mercy?
Ahiahiahai... :)

I’ll intervene briefly to let the bionic metalhead friends and ...caz... know that around here the term "marocchino" is a synonym for vu cumprà. It has the same meaning and absolutely no discriminatory or derogatory connotation. Those who don’t know should keep quiet; otherwise, they might end up in some lavish embarrassing situations. @Breathing: you might be just an asshole, but I find some of your comments truly hilarious :DDDD

Moreover, I think what cash said is also a load of crap, having superficially read the opening lines. I really don’t believe that such hospitable people like those from Salento can be even slightly racist. Besides hoping that the piece of shit hiding behind the fake account of krystalina never shows up again, I invite everyone to be more moderate since, in any case, your interlocutor is still a girl. Have a nice day.

Before starting a new day, I would like to say something to the one who hides behind the name of Krystalina: you are just a piece of shit. I feel disgust for you; I have no doubt that you are just a poor frustrated little boy who spends all day jerking off. Krystal may write reviews about questionable people, but she's still a girl and, from what I've read, not even stupid, and she certainly doesn't deserve (like all women) the disgusting obscenities you wrote. I'm sorry, but anyone who disrespects women is, in my opinion, a piece of shit, and I sincerely hope that the editors take action regarding this and that you, poor troubled little boy, have the good taste not to show yourself again.

Don't take it personally, but I didn't really like the review.
It seems overly formulaic and too focused on the clichés that Xymox copied from the Sisters and other 80s bands.
Moreover, it feels too detached, cold, and educational.
In my opinion, Xymox is a great band, and thank goodness for the best of album which had a decent success and, by the way, introduced me to them.
No hard feelings.

In my opinion, it's a mediocre album. It's violent, yes, but the overly polished production and the terrible voice of the singer absolutely diminish it.

What a shame that Eldritch has gotten lost along the way. He could have been, in my opinion, even greater than Jim Morrison and David Bowie (of course from an image and myth perspective). Moreover, the very fact that he hasn’t released anything since 1990 (except for the reworked single Temple of Love with Ofra Haza in ’92) shows that the inspiration has long since run out.. Sigh sigh.
P.S.: thanks Placid and Ocra ;)
