The Cure The Top
Voto:
I'm sorry Easy, I'm taking a look at all the Cure reviews and this one particularly caught my attention.
Very interesting review that offers a different perspective from the traditional one, although I absolutely disagree that it's the best of The Cure, as I much prefer the darker albums (Disintegration at the top of the list).
This is one of the ones I like the least, too experimental for my taste even though I go crazy for Dressing Up.
I find some songs quite hard to digest, like Give Me It and The Caterpillar. Bye.

But listen, I'll tell you the truth, I don't know any of the groups you mentioned, so I can't give you my opinion on them.
But you were right about one thing anyway, and that is that by "epic" I mean the embellishments and orchestrations of bands like the Guardians or Rhapsody, and not the power of Helloween, which lacks it.
Just like Headless Cross and any album by Sabbath lack it.
Nichols' keyboards, as important as they are, have always been secondary in Sabbath songs, so much so that he often doesn't even appear as a band member.
I might be wrong too, but for me, Epic, musically speaking, is orchestral and grandiose sound (or "ampalloso," as you prefer ;D), while Sabbath have never been orchestral.

Don't worry Enico, I don't hold a grudge.
Regarding the epic aspect, I believe that musically the Black Sabbath have never played Epic Metal, even though the lyrics of this album, with all its references, definitely fall into the epic genre.
From a musical standpoint, however, I don't think they have much in common with Rhapsody, Blind Guardian, and the like.
Even the keyboards, which usually enhance the epic sound, are played by Nichols in a non-epic, but hard rock manner.
This is a typically 80s Sabbath hard rock album, in my opinion, and the epic is only reflected in the themes and lyrics addressed. Regards.

Try to show more respect towards those you don't know, dear hammer. Saying that I'm worth half a penny just because I prefer Born Again to Headless Cross is not an elegant remark, I hope you realize that.

I’m writing this here as well, just in case you don't read it. But do you even know the meaning of the Latin phrase “de gustibus,” or do you just throw random statements around when judging your interlocutor, their tastes, and their opinions? I like Born Again much more than Headless Cross, so what? What the hell is there to laugh about? Sorry Enrico, but your comment only reveals resentment towards me, mostly unjustified since I didn’t tell you that you don't understand a damn thing or anyone else, while you hesitated not at all to tell me I'm worth less than a dime. Typical attitude of kids and those who have nothing to say; otherwise, you would have sought dialogue, as you call it, constructive, instead of seeking revenge. Know that you are losing my respect. It's up to you to make amends.

I'm sorry Enrico, but from your comment on Born Again, it only reveals resentment toward me, mostly unjustified since I didn't tell you that you don't understand anything or whatever, while you didn't hesitate to say that I'm not worth a damn.

Know that you are sinking in my estimation. It's up to you to recover.

I don't deserve a response, unbelievable.
I could understand if I had told you to go fuck yourself.
Instead, I did nothing but express my opinion on the album and your review in the most correct and polite way possible.
Trust me Enrico, the one who truly doesn't deserve a response is you. Bye Bye.

What's up Enrico, can't you accept criticism by any chance?
I'm tired of comments like yours that think they're immune to any critique.
What do you see up there? Yes, this is a space for comments, both positive and negative.
If you don't like it, just stop writing reviews and don't say mine are trivial comments.
If there's something trivial, it's your reference to Duran Duran.
If you want to start a discussion, as you call it, constructive I'm available; otherwise, we can just leave this matter here, as I don't feel like responding to someone who's irritated because they can't accept others' opinions.

But what do my eyes have to read?
Call of the Wild has a chorus like Duran Duran?????????
This is a beautiful heresy, my friend. If you had written a cheesy chorus, like a cheesy hard rock from the 80s, I could have understood, but I can't let you get away with calling it Duran Duran, no way.
Then you say this is epic metal, well...
Definitely for the lyrics, but musically it's pure hard rock, in my opinion, there's absolutely nothing epic about it.
Personally, I would have avoided all the discussions about the song scores that really weighted down the reading and aren't very interesting.
As for the rest, this album is good, even if some songs like the title track, When Death Calls, and Nightwing don't sit well with me at all.
I'd say it's a three, but since you can't rule the heart, I give it a four.
As for the review, I'm sorry, but I really didn't like it at all.

Sorry to jump into a discussion I know little about, but I just want to clarify that Amorphis have only made one classic Death album (their debut) and today they are far from death (in fact, they might not even be metal anymore). The same goes for Fear Factory and Arcturus, who are not death metal at all and I don't think they've ever played it. Other than that, I agree with Spreka. There was much more that could have been said. Regards.
