Slipknot issue.
Musically, I kind of like some of their songs, but you see, it’s the image that, in my opinion, screws them over. Just the other day, I was on the bus listening to a group of kids talking about the band, praising their beauty – mind you – not for the music, but rather for their masks.
You might argue that, for example, the Misfits or Christian Death had very extravagant looks to impact public opinion. The difference is substantial.
I admire a Rozz Williams a million times more, who deliberately sought to shock the puritanical American public at a time when MTV may not have even existed, than a Marilyn Manson, crafted at a drawing board to capture a horde of MTV-using adolescents.
In the past and currently, there are bands that also rely on image to create visibility, but in those cases where it's done intentionally to try to mess with the minds of the younger ones by instilling a false sense of transgression from characters who then thrive on their money, well, that truly disgusts me.

What I’m writing is addressed to sa morte niedda.
First of all, I sincerely thank you for the compliments.
Let me clarify a bit what my thoughts are on some issues.
Regarding the latest Moonspell album, my review was written in a rush, fueled by disappointment.
Disappointment because many webzines had written that this Memorial was a welcome return to their roots (that is, their best albums "Wolfheart" (undisputed masterpiece of gothic metal) and "Irreligious"). When I heard it, I couldn't help but notice that this was not the case at all.
Memorial is extremely different from the early albums, in every way.
First of all, Ribeiro's voice. If you're familiar with the first two Moonspell albums, you might have noticed that Fernando's voice was mostly clean and had an incredible depth. Even in the growls (which don’t really thrill me), the singing was truly optimal. In Memorial, however, Ribeiro sings everything in growls, and he does so with a disheartening flatness. The songs also seem quite sloppy and banal to me, all tending to sound alike. Maybe that's excessive, but it certainly isn't a return to the sounds of Wolfheart.
If we then want to include Evanescence or Lacuna Coil in the gothic genre, it’s obvious that Memorial is an Oscar-winning album compared to these bands, which I personally consider to be crafted to appeal to youngsters just starting to wear black and apply eyeshadow like Robert Smith.

Alright, fine, I probably took it the wrong way.
No problems.
P.S.: you are also a more than valid interlocutor.

Congratulations Zaireeka, really interesting.
(I’m being serious, of course. I wouldn’t want to find myself with Mr. No again reiterating that I’m being contentious.)

Perhaps you haven't heard of it because it's a tool introduced by the new reform that has completely transformed and messed up the entire process.
Anyway, Bartle, congratulations, since you've already gotten to preparing incidental appeals.
I’ve always stopped at the first degree proceedings. Bye bye.

But what are you rambling about, Misterno? Just so you know, Bartle and I are on excellent terms.
Oh Bartle, if it wasn't clear, that was just a joke.

Dude, but it's really annoying to keep reviewing the same albums and the same bands..
