@DaveJonGilmour: In my opinion, you're shooting randomly...

Even though this doesn't reach the level of the BeeHive review, you're the only one in here who really makes me laugh out loud when I read a review. And I emphasize the only one! Excellent! "Religion does not unite, it divides." A phrase of unique depth. Congratulations if it's yours. Kudos anyway for the quote if you copied it.

Well, maybe we're not understanding each other or perhaps we're on two different wavelengths. If you tell me that Apocalypse Now isn't "poetic" or "romantic," then we're really not on the same page. I agree with the issue of the crescendo and the almost Dante-esque depiction of Vietnam, but it's all metaphorical. Platoon is like a kind of documentary. Full Metal Jacket, on the other hand, aimed to provide a detached view of Vietnam. In my opinion, they complement each other. Saying that Platoon is not a great film seems like nonsense to me. No matter what Mereghetti, Morandini, and even Meneguzzi say, Apocalypse Now is on another level as a film in general. Platoon and Full Metal Jacket are closer together. I personally prefer Platoon.

I almost forgot: nice review but not amazing. Beautiful film. Nice soundtrack. 4-4-5. Like a football team formation.

As usual, Poletti, you have to play the know-it-all. If you haven't noticed the differences between this film and Apocalypse Now, you really haven't understood a thing. Just like you probably haven't noticed the differences between Stone and Coppola. It's like comparing Mozart to Emerson Lake & Palmer. Come on now. An exceptional film in my opinion, raw and edgy like Stone likes it, unlike Apocalypse Now, which is visionary, terrifying, and romantic. I prefer the soundtrack of Apocalypse. By the way, Charlie Sheen (son of the legendary Martin, who stars in Apocalypse Now), after this film went a bit crazy and ended up parodying himself in movies like Hot Shots (what won't you do to make a living). Now they arrest him every now and then...

"Were things better when they were worse?" It absolutely depends on how one feels. I like to look back to remember. Not to relive those moments (whether they were good or bad). I don't mind light doses of country ballads. I'll let you know when I've listened to the album. Bye!

Review of those boring ones with a capital B. The album isn't all that great, but it's not all that terrible either.
