Subsonica Una Nave In Una Foresta

I agree with everything! Being from Turin, I have experienced and loved them since their early days performing live in CSOs. To this day, I believe that no one in Italy (or Europe?) has the mix of groove and "intelligence" like the subs, often too underrated, almost treated like a mere boy band. Recently, I had resigned myself to saving just a couple of tracks for the album, assuming their impending breakup was a given... instead, La Nave captivated me... And after dancing to exhaustion at their live show in November, not a day goes by without listening to them... I’ve dug out old records that make me realize how current pieces from 10/15 years ago still are, in both lyrics and sound, which is even more commendable in the electro genre where premature aging is the price to pay.
P.S. Ritmo Abarth, crazy and fun, stands out on its own next to Benzina Ogoshi, tracks that wouldn’t have looked out of place in the discography of the best Camerini.

I liked the genre, but when it comes to L/H, I mostly remember "Blackout in the redroom." Instead of G'n'R and Skid Row, I would define them as a crossover between the street style of L.A. Guns and the early Warrior Soul.
Then, don’t generalize; it's never fair: sure, Glam (and all its subgenres) included some trash like Crue and Poison, but also many truly valid bands like Tesla, Badlands, Whitesnake, Enuff Z'Nuff, D.A.D., Extreme, Cinderella...
In "The Wrestler," the stripper captures the essence of Glam in one sentence: "...mitici anni 80!! questi si che era musica!! e che facevamo di male? volevamo solo divertirci.... e poi è arrivato quel finocchio di Cobain!!!" :)))

one of the most interesting bands of recent years. Nice review even if it's a bit long, but when it needs to be, it needs to be... also because I discovered a ton of things I didn't know!
Mr. Bungle Mr. Bungle

it has nothing to do with the review, but the first crossover album I listened to was from '75, a certain "A Night at the Opera" by an English band, I think ^^. Anyway, as a forty-something loser, I've seen Mr. Bungle (flying donut tour), FNM (king for a day tour), Tomahawk (tomahawk tour), and Fantomas (the director's cut tour) and you haven't noooooo and you haven't noooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!

I don't know! I keep reading catastrophic and negative reviews when, in my opinion, the album is not bad at all! References to the Addiction that once were are useless; a period (the mid-90s) that is unrepeatable, magical, a melting pot of ideas and unprecedented musical crossover. I repeat, the album is very valid in my opinion, and I'm speaking as a long-time fan (saw them in Turin in '90... on the tour of a certain "Ritual de lo Habitual"...). Moreover, I find it right and normal to smooth out the edges, lower the volume of the amps, reduce the distortion to the bare minimum... after all, they're approaching 50!! What sense would a Ritual Pt 2 make???? And even if they had done it, you would have slammed them as a band without guts or ideas, just copying the masterpieces of the past to make money... in short, make up your minds.
Stephen King Cose Preziose

Great review, and I completely agree with the criticism about the ending being a bit rushed. I've read everything by King, and this is one of my favorites, especially the first part... walking into a shop and seeing a rabbit's tail to hang on your bike, an object insignificant to others but that brings back memories, colors, scents, and the freedom of an age that will never return... I adored THAT King, the one who, in just a few lines, lets you know a thousand secondary characters, their psyche, their weaknesses, their strengths... Like I did with IT (which has a lot in common), Cose Preziose is one of the King books that I promised myself to RE-READ... but not before Le creature del buio and L'ombra dello scorpione though...

And here I am, five years later, not remembering what I wanted to say at the end of the review!! "Knife and fork, a little salt and be ready..... have you at least shaved los gingillos??? " ahahahah, what does that have to do with anything??? booooh???? ^_^

It had been years since I heard a fresh and fun album like this one. I've had it in my car compilation since November, and it still hasn't bored me! Maybe it's because I'm a fan of voices, and Paolino's singing is colossal in the growls, believable and never cheesy in the clean parts. Two songs at opposite ends? Panda vs Koala and Tip of the Day... if you hate them, you get 'en cazzo ^_^

your girlfriend, at "You come after, stay quiet," is still laughing... for now, she has only come with the plumber!
I’m old enough to have bought both Wretch and Blues upon their release... well, the first one is nice and different from the usual stuff of the time, the second has rightly become the symbol of stoner... a genre that I wouldn’t even associate with Wretch under torture!

uhazz, if you’re referring to my (I thought I had posted it on deb, who knows!?) wow, what a memory, I didn’t even remember it myself! NOIZE but it was about those bands made up of just 3 members who sound like they have 10!
