Stupid, pointless, nonsensical to make comparisons with Dave; they are both great guitarists to whom the history of music and rock owes a lot, but they have characteristics that make them unique in their own right, fundamentally different, undoubtedly incomparable. Syd was a genius, a rebellious and revolutionary soul but at the same time fragile and sensitive. July 11, 2006, will probably remain one of the saddest days of my life.
