The reception is nice, but I agree with supersoul... here I find them a bit """slapdash""" (let me remind you that we're talking about people who are among the best of the new millennium...!!!) while little by little they found a way and embarked on it with determination and energy... to each his own(auto)bus... @ole, I think that if you don't know them, start with Siderland by Slint and move on to the best of the best of the best...

I agree, very much so, especially regarding the social function that they had (I repeat, unfortunately had) the social centers. At the new Leonka, I no longer saw the mechanic, the space for children, the theater, and many other initiatives that existed on via Leoncavallo... I had a girlfriend from Milan back then who knew a couple of the girls at the ticket office of the new place, and she told me they were wealthy Milanese girls, playing at being alternative revolutionaries... at the counter, they sold (and I believe still sell) Coca-Cola, something that if you even asked for at the end of the 80s would get you beaten up and you’d end up drinking ilan Cola (!!!). I sincerely believe that the reflux of social centers occurred from within; the generational change gave birth to the situations we are experiencing today... even though I think there are still some decent realities... in Milan, the csa Vittoria isn't bad...

I think that the discussion you've started is one of the most beautiful I've read about Deb... truly, I'm not being sarcastic at all, in fact I feel a bit proud because it originated from one of my reviews, which I really like, about an album I particularly love because it made me realize that even in Italy there were people who had nothing to envy from House of Pain, Cypress Hill, or my first love, Run DMC... actually, I believe that in '94 no one had the flow of Sangue Misto, not even in the USA... regarding social centers, in the hip hop vs hardcore debate... I honestly think the transition happened naturally, just as techno swept away rap towards the end of the millennium... in '97 I remember there were hardly a hundred people at Leonka for Kaos's concert, and just as many in the basement room blasting unza-tunza. Muito, hardcore in the USA was also being replaced by other genres, and over there they had Fugazi, Shellac, Slint... all people who had done hc at the highest levels... unfortunately, we did not have the same recycling here, and I also believe there were many more problems for "punk" bands to play in social centers during the time of the posse, but there were some, I remember that the night after Kaos, Klasse Kriminale played at Leonka... there was space, we just lacked the players... I think.

@kemo... I see it more as a New York nowave or dark UK...? In this film, even anger is gone; there is "only" resignation, as perfectly explained by the detached clarity with which McCarthy and Erwin discuss the righteousness of our end...
