the first entangled in a vast series of scandals and suspicious deaths (including that of Pope Luciani) and the second accused in a Texas court of obstructing justice that was trying to shed light on pedophile priests. An accusation from which he emerged with diplomatic immunity in 2005, as head of state.

... appointed by John Paul II Monsignor Marcinkus archbishop and pro-president of the Pontifical Commission for the State of the Vatican City in 1981, the year in which the same pope appointed Ratzinger prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, the body of the Holy See responsible for overseeing the correctness of Catholic doctrine.

Regarding the opportunity to write hymns and tributes for dead people, I completely agree with Bartle. Everyone is free to write what they want, but understanding the context in which to do so is a sign of balance and, above all, personal decency. I can contest the ideas of Fallaci; I don’t like them, but I respect her pain and the pain felt by those close to her upon her death. I find some of her senile ideas repugnant, that’s all; I will never recommend reading her writings and I will always contest her ideas... but I believe that everything should stop there, in a review site.

@syderus... maybe you already know, but quoting the article that appears on the luogocomune site (Mazzucco's site) regarding the Bible... "ORIGIN AND CONTENT

First of all, it must be said that the Bible is not a unified text at all, but rather a tangled compendium of oral tradition, historical sources, popular myths and legends, both local and imported, writings of various prophets, laws and rules for hygiene and nutrition, poetry, songs, and proverbs of every kind. In other words, a cumulative summary of all contemporary knowledge of that region, which began to take definitive shape and to be considered "the Law of God" only around the eighth century BC. Later we will discuss the actual drafting of the texts, which began in that period, by scribes who were in no way the authors of the original text.

THE ORIGINAL TEXT

The biblical texts were written - in ancient Hebrew of course, except for brief segments in Aramaic - on long scrolls of leather or parchment. Far from being readable at first glance, however, these scrolls appeared to the reader as an endless sequence of letters, from the first to the last line. (In reality, as seen from the photo next to it, every now and then there are multiple spacings, but these indicate "emotional" pauses, and have nothing to do with the composition of individual words).

P r a t i c a m e n t e l a b i b b i a a p p a r i v a s c r i t t a c o s ì

The actual words are not indicated, but you have to find them for yourself, separating the groups of letters at the right points. And since in fact the Jews did not even write the vowels, the equivalent for us would have been this:

P r t c m n t l b b b p p r v s c r t t c s

Multiply this riddle by about 2.5 million consecutive letters, and you will have the original Bible in front of you." I really don't think it's all that simple to talk about a "book" like that. Then we can also agree on Muhammad, but from the founding of the Roman Church to today, it doesn't seem to me that there have only been charitable works, in the Crusades or in helping Nazis escape to South America via the Vatican. If we want to comment on the nice move made by Pope Naziger, taking in the excommunicated followers of Lefebvre, with Cardinal Williamson who thinks that the Nazi camps were an invention of Jewish propaganda, that gas chambers never existed, and that the dead Jews were ONLY two or three hundred thousand. This always in the name of "our" good God... or the Vatican, which protects American pedophile cardinals, paying off the victims and relocating the offenders to other places...
