Dave... I think the The fits, it's the album that's just called Kinks... I have the 45 RPM of You Really Got Me and the The is quite prominent...

I completely agree with ajeje... I don't particularly like this album either, but in general, I love the Grateful Dead. I adore the acoustic live Bear's Choice...

For me, the masterpiece is The Stranger... I've always liked a certain hardcore in hip hop... Kaos, Lou X, Odio Pieno del Colle... the more "fugaziani" assaults... "I am the number zero, distrustful faces when the stranger-in-sclero-teso-vero-vesto scuro passes by, I bang my head against the wall..."

@ZiOn... I agree... however, when talking about SxM, the distinction is a must. These three guys knew exactly what they were doing and also why (manca mone...). So in this case, I would place them among the founding fathers of our hip hop, precisely for their devotion to the philosophy (Gruff "the guru" above all)...

ehm… rap is simply the way of singing… hip hop is, as Neffa told me, a lifestyle and a state of mind… a philosophy based on four pillars… rap, deejaying, writing, and break dance… one or more of these elements bring hip hop to life, not necessarily all four… although respect must always be at its highest (meaning you can be a nobody doing pieces on walls, as long as you respect and acknowledge this element)… clothing is also part of it, but it's ever-changing (and in my opinion a bit ephemeral)…

@omega... this is not rap... it's HIP HOP...!

They invented a language (at least a bunch of neologisms)... musically the album is a product of Neffa and Deda, Gruff contributed his part (mostly scratches) but the heavy lifting was done by them, and even on a global scale during that period (94) there wasn't much better... @killgod... Gruff appears in more than one track, and in La Porra he gives his best... "I wake up, prepare the mix in a salad bowl, spend the whole day, I roll a joint and chill out... outside... we blaze until evening, and still, closed in a paper or inside a chillum... blam, maybe some skunk or funk mix, in my head bang, the high sways, colors in this gray send... a little joint that calms me leaves a joyful fragrance, and when you put too much it's not wasted, if it's good. I don't mess with crap, understand me well, like, get me in a hurry. the packing smoke is like the stuff, seriously freaks me out, the daily twist for a kid gets tough. in the square where the tobacconist deals, big plastic bags I don’t want half of it. I need to taste the plant I don’t smoke shoes, this isn't funnies, it doesn't amuse me. I always check the bud when I roll... I don't think positive I think about the chillum... about the chillum" MONSTROUS

the excuse is a bit weak... in ten or fifteen minutes I could overwhelm you with information about the band and the album just by looking it up online... the reception is a bit meager for a great album...

damn... I interviewed Neffa for a fanzine during the tour of this album. He was (and I believe he still is) monstrously aware and conscious of every move he makes. I definitely prefer SxM (also because when it came out, it really left me astounded... even today I believe there isn’t an album on earth more hip-hop than this one) and I agree with you about the vision of the Italian scene. Sure, though, I’d love to have a gangsta like Lou X... I’d want them in droves, along with his cousin Cuba Kabal or Dj Disastro...
