@pippo... you're right... reading myself again I noticed that the thought I wanted to express loses some of its value, because I wanted to support that it has the delicate poetry of the Love, intertwined with a healthy (and robust) load of English beat... perhaps he felt more and more detached from his land, completely immersed (and happy ?!?!?) in the San Francisco of that era...

I completely agree, especially with the (non)parallel to Emerson, which I find tiresome (despite his infinite talent)... excellent review for an excellent album.

"In just a few years of activity, the Corvi have rightfully established themselves among the best of the entire Italian Beat scene, alongside Equipe 84, Nomadi, and a few others. Their music spans beat, psychedelia, and the beginnings of hard rock.
Everything started in 1965. At that time, the Corvi were a cover band focusing on the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, and through connections, they managed to participate in a debut contest called "Rapallo Davoli," where, among hundreds of bands from all over Italy, they placed second. Ariston signed them and they participated in the Cantagiro of '66 (by Ezio Radaelli) with the song "Ragazzo di strada" (a cover of "I ain't no miracle worker" by the little-known American band Brogues), one of the most beautiful tracks of the '60s. The song became a huge success. Distorted sounds, raw and realistic lyrics, with a black crow (named "Alfredo," who later died forgotten in the van with the instruments) perched on the guitar neck, propelled them to the top of the sales charts, along with their image cut from the cloth of somewhat disreputable boys. This success was followed by others: "Sospesa ad un filo" (a cover of "I had too much to dream" by the Electric Prunes), "Bang bang" by Sonny Bono, "Datemi una lacrima per piangere," "Che notte ragazzi," and the beautiful "Quando quell'uomo ritornerà," which, along with other singles, made up their only LP, A PILLAR in the Beat landscape. By the end of '66, due to disagreements with the record label, punches were thrown, and the Corvi moved to Bluebell, where they recorded "Bambolina" (a cover of "Any day now" by Burt Bacharach), "Datemi un biglietto d'aereo" (a cover of "The letter" by The Box Tops), and "Questo è giusto?" (a cover of "Morning dew" by the Episodi).
'69 marked the crisis of the group, and with one last single "Ama" and the B-side "No bugie no," which had little to do with the free spirit of the "ragazzi di strada," the Corvi disbanded. " buuu buuu... even on the site, given that Alfredo was with the bassist (visual testimony on YouTube).

Good job, Dante... this song has been my soundtrack every March 5th for the past ten years... drowned in vodka. John remains one of my (few) heroes. His bee character on Saturday was born that day... and it’s still my (his) favorite... Joliet Jake is on a mission from God on our behalf... TOGA TOGA TOGA...
