I'm sorry Cash, but in Durst's angry little boy voice I hear neither prog-metal nor, for that matter, pop-soul.

Lewis, it's not that the kick drum doesn't sound like this... The device in question is called a trigger; it's essentially a pad that detects all the hits from the drum pedal (and in this case, there are two), and then, depending on the impulse, the hit is processed by a brain that contains all the pre-programmed samples of the kick. Now, in the case of Mr. Herrera, the trig is set to maximum sensitivity, which means that all the hits played will have the same dynamics regardless of the force applied by the foot pedals (and I believe you, at that speed...)
HIM Right Here In My Arms

I've never even heard the Kyyria mentioned, so maybe they do some crazy things that deserve praise for their technique. But doesn’t it seem a bit excessive to say that the drummer of Him is one of the most interesting around? He lacks creativity, he churns out the same beats with the same patterns for five albums now, and repeats sequences that would seem obvious even in the first-year recital at drumming school! Interesting drummers at least offer more refined solutions...

I would like to know chronologically what feelings one experiences when looking at that cover for 15 consecutive minutes. I looked away at the 30-second mark, but the following feelings occurred: EMBARRASSMENT (0''-13''), A GLIMMER OF LAUGHTER (14''-19''), SILENT ADMIRATION (20''-30'').

Yes, III Temples of Boom is a full five, I’ve been listening to it again recently and only now can I appreciate that dark atmosphere it’s drenched in.

In fact, I’ve asked myself the same question about why there are so few reviews on the Beastie, who knows! Better this way, I really wanted to have this honor!

I wouldn't know... when I bought the Him DVD, the only disappointing notes were precisely the videos directed by Bam Margera... and I actually like him! Still, the fact remains that it’s annoying to see a band like Him, which had its own personality, blend so much into the mass of MTV bands... Before, when a Him video came on, you would notice it right away; now I confuse it with Avril Lavigne and those half-baked The Rasmus. The same goes for the 69 Eyes...
