Not bad, except that... the opening riff is exactly like the one in Mistress by Disturbed!!!!!!!! Review, as always, excellent.

I like the review, and I also share the opinion about the album. As for the claim that it's low-quality rock, I strongly disagree: the first two albums were really good, both in terms of sound and lyrics, which were anything but predictable. Then, the ideas gradually started to dwindle.

Hello Fjelltronen, I am the author of the previous review on this album. I would like to compliment you on your writing, as you write very well, but you lack a bit of objectivity in judging this album. If I had to give a score to the value of HIM as a band, I would also settle on a 5, because albums like Greatest... and Razorblade... had impressed me at the time of their release for their originality and passion. Unfortunately, what I've noticed is a gradual increase in 'professionalism' in their music-making: many of their choices have seemed to me over the years predictable and self-referential. I had the opportunity to realize this during their live performances: I saw them during the Razorblade tour at the Vidia in Cesena, and I can assure you that it remains one of the most beautiful concerts I have attended. They held the stage for over two hours, treating us to several covers as well. The concert at Heineken was great too. For the promotional tour of 'Brilliant...' I saw them in Florence, and believe me, the disappointment was huge: a little over an hour and a performance that, although admirable, was quite cold. As for the 'technical' discussion about the value of the individual musicians, I have to repeat the impression they have always given me: they use some clichés that, after Brilliant..., have seemed a bit too worn out.

Well... maybe when you write reviews for the local Sicilian newspaper you put in more effort... :)

Well-written review, quite an interesting album.

I don't have the album in this version; mine has a different tracklist and a few more tracks, but essentially the proposal is the same. In my opinion, it's an excellent product that sounds great in its entirety without ever having to resort to the skip function of the player. However, I don't notice any particular brilliance; it seems quite linear and without major surprises, also fairly predictable in many of its aspects. In this sense, Greatest... was much less conventional, but I've always liked Razorblade more.

Great suggestion, but it seems to me that the availability of the album is quite limited! Is there any other album of theirs that you recommend (and most importantly can be found more easily)?

I really don’t understand the reason for so much contention... When it comes to music, what do the more or less pronounced knowledge of the specific country of origin have to do with fully understanding/appreciating an artist's work? What does it mean that one cannot express an opinion on rai unless they were born/spent an adequate period in the Middle East???! Or in this case, on Norwegian folk music? For me, music should be able to evoke certain emotions in any listener, regardless of the level of shared experiences with the author.

This is an amazing album! It arrived a few days ago and I still haven't absorbed it all, but it's truly extraordinary!
