Come on, stehph, you see that you're a sharp person! But I really can't see 2 minutes to midnight... it's EXACTLY the riff of KASHMIR!

A little help...the plagiarized song is by a veeeery famous rock band that kicked ass with the little sheep in the 60s/70s...

Come on, Steph, doesn't the second initial riff tell you anything? The one after the baroque keyboard...

I’m starting to think that the similarity of the solo in Spirit to that of Shine is intentional… Petrucci, in my opinion, wanted to pay tribute to Pink Floyd in his own way, with his reinterpretation of Shine. In fact, both songs deal with the death of a loved one, Syd for Pink Floyd and Victoria in the context of Scenes. It’s as if Petrucci with his guitar is whispering ā€œwish you were hereā€ (referring to Victoria, of course). I think it’s a gem, not plagiarism. Petrucci isn’t stupid; he’s aware that a good part of those who listen to Dream Theater have a musical background that also includes Pink Floyd. It’s like he’s admitting, ā€œI haven’t forgotten my rootsā€¦ā€ What do you think? PS: It’s easy to claim that Regression sounds like Outside the Wall… umpf… that seems a bit forced, come on, there are similarities, but then the vocal lines change at some point. Surely DT has listened to The Wall, but… you rush to judgment as soon as you hear something similar…

Michi, repeat what you said about Freddie Mercury... repeat, repeat...

She must die suffocated by a tide of floating peas that penetrate deep into her nostrils. She is the shame of Italian music. I cannot esteem those who listen to her, I'm sorry.

When I say prog, I mean prog metal... I thought that was obvious by now! Anyway, please listen to Eternity, pay close attention to THE SECOND INTRODUCTORY RIFF played by Tolkki, and you'll understand what it really means to plagiarize a song. Then tell me if that riff doesn’t remind you of something... forget about the uninspired Dream Theater... phew!

The essence of Prog is this: if you like it, great, if not, don’t listen to it. Anyway, let me tell you this: the two solos in "Spirit" and "Shine" are "different twins." At a certain point, it seems like one merges into the other, but it never happens (except for those 3 brief seconds). I have a question for you: have you ever listened to "ETERNITY" by Stratovarius? (But do answer, now you only respond to Orion; it’s rude on your part... the critiques I made in the posts above shouldn’t affect your response too much...)

Varg gets on my nerves, he's a failed Nazi, a fucked up Satanist, and mentally ill... but his music is interesting, unique, and even ontologically fascinating. Still, I would cut off his balls with a scythe. And I would sacrifice them to that idiot Satan.

It's true, Tolkki is inspired by Malmsteen, but whether he succeeds is another matter... anyway, Tolkki is fast in his solos, that is undoubted.
